    Olevia 242-S11 keeps blowing fuse

Ok guys I'm new here and did some research but don't have an answer yet. I have an Olevia 242-S11 that keeps blowing the fuse on the power supply. Capacitors all look in good shape so I'm not sure what is driving it.

I found a cheap seller on ebay selling a functioning power supply, same exact model as mine: FSP271-4F02 but to my luck all the pin connectors (CNS1 through CNS4) appear to be different.

What are my options? Should I go back to my original power supply and if so what should I check since the Caps are all good. Is there any easy way to swap the pin connectors as I'm sure once I connect the used power supply I bought I should be up and running.

    Thanks for your help!

Start by uploading good clear pictures of the board both side. The two power supplies must not be the same revision.

Thanks for the reply. I have uploaded pictures of my original psup.

You would think the revision is different but it is not. Same rev 1. 03 on both boards but yet the pin connectors ended up slightly different. They are wired the same way, but the shape of them, particularly the open fastener slots are different.

The pictures above are my original power supply that came in the TV. The picture attached below is of the "used" power supply I bought from ebay.

Quick test on the original - There seem to be a few bad solder joints
I have marked some . Some may be on heatsinks so hard to re solder.

            NO power to board
Where I have marked 1234 can you put our meter on ohms 200 and test
1 to 2 then reverse the probes and test again

Then do the same for 3 to 4

Then the same for 2 to 3

Also can you mark on the bottom of the board where the BIG cap is soldered.

The flash has obliterated part of the writing we need to see - with the output info and as bud is trying to compare them it would have been thoughtful if you turned the picture so they are at least in the same orientation.

I marked where the big cap is soldered on the back of the board. I'll start the testing in a few.

As for the flash and orientation, my apologies I'll see if I can get a clear picture of both boards side by side. My basement is dark so without flash you don't get the detailed writing on the board. Photography was never my skill.

there is a soot mark next to the bridge rectifier.

Thanks STJ, I'm a rookie at this sort of thing so could you point me to the Bridge Rectifier?

                        Selldoor,

I ran the test and i'm getting several readings on the DMM when I'm testing but here are the average numbers, I hope the format makes sense:

                        2 3 4
                        - 1 -
                        + 1 145
                        - 2 45.6
                        + 2 -
                        - 3 -
                        + 3 143.4

Sorry makes no sense to me at all
                          report it as
                          1 to2 = ?? ohms
                          2 to1 = ?? ohms and so on

If it says 1 on the left of your meter for any put OL

Good news, I fixed the TV! Since I'm not very good at testing, I bit the bullet and desoldered all 4 pin connectors from the PSUP boards and swapped them. Plugged it in and woala! We have picture!

Thanks again to everyone for your help!

The reason I even bother to fix a power brick (wall wart, whatever) in the first place is because this thing was really convenient to use: I'd just plug it and that's it. It's a dual output supply, for both 12v and 5v, which although I COULD easily obtain with a DC-DC converter from a standard 12v adapter, I thought I should crack open the...

Hello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
                                The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping...
