    Samsung LE32A336J1D - still blinking/going to standby

Hi guys I failed heavily at a post a few weeks ago - sorry about that - (MOD please remove that old thread pls!) so I'm trying again with the correct info at hand rather than guesswork!

Tv is a Samsung LE32A336J1D, 32in LCD bought in Spain.
Power board sticker reads BN44-00192B - Rev 1.1
All 10v caps on power board recently replaced with 25v (just 2 caps)

    Smaller files - low resolution
    Main board
    Back
    Cracked glue?
Power board showing number BN44-00192B - bottom right: ticks show recently replaced 10v->25v caps
    More manky glue

    Huge files - high resolution
    Main board
    Back
    Cracked glue?
Power board showing number BN44-00192B - bottom right: ticks show recently replaced 10v->25v caps
    More manky glue

The TV is OK now for the first few minutes, then I hear a feint low whining sound and the tv picture blinks in and out repeatedly whilst the sound continues, before finally going into standby. It is then almost imposisble to wake up. It seems to be struggling to stay awake the longer it's on for.

I have performed a factory reset via remote, but this is all.

What do you think I should be looking out for? I understand there's a bridging of some pins I can try, eeprom? Anyone done this TV before?

If not, what am I looking at next do you think? Did I miss something (Another cap was a previous suggestion on my failed post)? There's no 10v caps left I can see now.

    Thanks guys.

    John

Having dropped to page 3 with no responses - and having found nothing on bump policy, consider this bumped. Please help a guy out, I just want to learn! Thank you

Re: Samsung LE32A336J1D - still blinking/going to standby

Arrggh - just did it again - clicked on the old thread to remind me the original story and killed my aging laptop.

      Here is the story:
I have a 32in Samsung Plasma that had 2 bad caps. I've replaced the 10v for 25v x 2, but the problem persisted. I checked my soldering which is OK - then did a factory reset, which has made it a lot better - but 15min in, the screen starts blinking out (still with sound) then eventually it will switch to standby mode.

Before I did the reset, auto tuning for channels made it go into standby. It wouldn't go all the way without shutting off. Now I can get 15min into a programme after setup, so I must be getting somewhere. I can hear some squealing during the glitching though which is a bit worrying.

So my question is, what next? EEPROM flush? Also is a factory reset via remote lesser than an EEPROM reset or is it the same thing? Anything else likely to hamper me?

I have a multimeter if there's anything I need to test. First go you see...

Ther is no pint in suggesting anything else until you remove all the glue. It has become conductive in places and will get worse.

It is not easy you have to work away at it slowly ,obviuosly without damaging the board/components - some people have reported it soften (only slightly) with repeated coats of IPA
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Sorry about the huge thread - how do I get someone to delete it, report it? Was reluctant to use that as it says it's not for that purpose.

That is fine, I will remove the glue next then and report back. I take it when the glue has 'gone conductive', it can be identified by the discolouration - like near the main capacitor in my photos? Like I say it's a learning process for me so I want to arm myself with as many facts as poss.

Thank you Selldoor, I will catch you soon

When its gone conductive it will be brown but it is also corrosive so it corrodes first then
becomes conductive it really is awful stuff - you cant always see the brown if it under a blob of it. Budm has a whole set of pictures of it.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
            by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Samsung 60" Plasma TV, Blinking Standby LED
            by rju
A sports bar/restaurant with ~40 Samsung Plasma TVs. This is the 2nd TV that has a blinking standby LED. I'd like to learn how to repair these TVs because I'd guess that over time more and more of them will develop this symptom. My hope is to repair the bad PCB, however if that's not realistic then I'd replace the bad PCB.

            Model PN60F5300AF, Type PN60F5300, Model Code PN60F5300AFXZA

Upon applying power, the red standby is steady. When I tap the power button, the standby LED immediately blinks twice, then it blinks once ~ every 4 secs. Also, Upon applying power, the...

LED TV Samsung The Frame 55 inch QE55LS03RAU Standby Light only
            by ChristianBr01
            Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

            Brazilian Samsung LT27B350LB w/ BN44 00506A - blinking standby LED
            by Crystaleyes
            Hi all.

Recently joined the forum as particularly keen to thoroughly learn about SMPS's.

So, a friend asked if his 27" Samsung LED TV could be fixed.

The problem being that it would switch off after a few minutes and leave a black screen with a blinking red standby LED.

After finding one cap shorting out, all of the electrolytic caps were changed.

With the TV still laying screen down, it was switched on and left playing music and videos for some five hours or so, at which point it was decided to replace the back cover...
