    Samsung LNb530p7f

So, a weird problem developed on my LN46b530p7f TV overnight, yesterday it was fine today it has this gray transparent line that is roughly 3-4" wide down the center. I've attached pictures just in case anyone has seen this, I think its probably an easy fix but who knows better than this forum? Any help is greatly appreciated of course.

lol,not really...sometimes a post just get's lost down the row with all the others posting...

Let others give their opinion but I'd say that looks like a bad panel to me...
If you where to open the tv and look at the bottom edge of the screen you will see a ribbon cable right by that defect...the IC chip on that ribbon is probably dead..
      Sadly that can't be fixed....

Agree, bad panel, maybe water damage or random failure.

Damn, I was hopeful to fix it, definitely not water damage though, no water or any other liquid was near it. TV is only 4 years old. Guess it must be a random failure.

Looking a little further I see the IC boards you are speaking of, the problem is they seem to be resting on the aluminum frame of the LCD with no insulation on either side of the board. Anyone know how to remove the aluminum frame around the LCD to get a closer look? I suspect they are shorting out on the aluminum frame someplace, just a thought as I resolved a similar issue on another TV about 6 months ago. If I can remove the frame around it I can strategically place some electrical tape on the frame where the board meets it and possibly resolve this problem.

Well, on closer inspection it appears my wife cleaned the screen with Windex and a very little bit dribbled down inside and created corrosion on the IC board, the screen is FUBAR. What a shame, everything else is in excellent condition. DAMN!!!!

Sadly that happens a lot. They moved the ribbons to the bottom as over heating was a problem, now just to be replaced with this moisture issue.
