    Vizio VW22L

    I mentioned this TV in another thread, it was a freebie when I picked up another set. The facts so far:

    1. Powers on, but doesn't seem to process any video sources nor show any menu
    2. When plugged, LED blinks red 5 times and goes steady red on the 6th blink
    3. When turning off, LED blinks 13 times and goes steady red on the 14th blink
    4. When turning on, LED turns blue immediately
    5. 12v rail measures at 13.05v, 5v is nearly perfect at 4.98v
    6. Primary cap measures 168v at all times, powered off and turned on/turning on

    I don't really have a use for this TV, but it was free and if I can fix it for cheap I'll find a home for it (maybe a new monitor in my server closet).

        Looks like logic for the HDMI port. There's a second, unpopulated HDMI location on the PCB and it also has a matching spot for another of these chips (also unpopulated).

            I've seen several people here lately with failures due to the HDMI chips, and they removed it to get the TV up and running. So I thought that would be ok for now, since I would likely just use the VGA in the closet. Removed and no dice, unfortunately. Still no bl_on, though an update on the 12v - it's 12.2v with power off, 13v with power on. Still the same 160-ish on the primary cap both in standby and turned on, though that's not surprising since it's not technically turning on. I'll check around for a cheap main board.

              Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
              by cloo
              I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
              It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

              So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
              After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

              Un50cu7000 2 blink oddity *partially solved
              by EazyBone
              I write this to maybe help another with this TV.

              So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.

              The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

              Vizio M65-E0 not turning on
              by pedromvu
              Hi, I know these TVs are common to have problems like this, but unfortunately I was not able to find repair guide for this specific model or for something with this kind of power board.

              The thing is this doesn't have the 5vsb pin which is used to determine from which board the issue comes.

              Everything in power and main board was inspected without any apparent problems, but haven't measured everything.

              The voltages from Power to Main board are as follows:

              NC = 0
              A = 0
              BL_on/off = (Some millivolts, probably considered 0)...

              Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel

              Failure Symptom

              No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

              Where is the short?

              Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

              Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...
