    Vizio E420VA mainboard replacement

    Hey all,
well here is the situation, got a Vizio 42" EV420VA from a friend that had a power surge destroy the mainboard. Couldny locate one but did find one on ebay for a 46" model.

Basically set powers up now but the screen is stretched and green, lacking color.
How do you preset option bytes in the service menu? and furthermore how do you access the service menu on Vizio?

I had all this info saved on my phone but recently smashed it on accident.

    Thanks

Chinese generic boards and most respond to the following for factory mode:

Hold down volume minus (Volume down) on set and press 'recall' on remote.
'Recall' is the button that activates the channel number and clock onscreen.
After you have made your changes, in most cases, pressing 'power' on the remote will clear the factory mode.

On some models pressing the 'AV' button will revert things to normal operation.
In rare cases, the sequence first described above - (Vol - on set and recall on remote) will have to be repeated at least once more.

However I noticed that the mainboard has a USB. It has a media player for pics and stuff but can't locate a firmware from Vizio or the internet. Wish I could just transfer the EEPROM ic from old board to new. But not sure which ic holds the firmware

Post a picture of the board please. I'm not sure if the eeprom swap is going to fix it though. I've had mixed results swapping these boards in Vizio's. They use so many different panels it's hard to keep up.

Yep that's the board. Too bad I can't get into the service menu and poke around in the options kind of like Samsung and thier panel options although I doubt it will do any good.

                                      Re: Vizio E420VA mainboard replacement

I'm still stumped on this one. I'll run down the symptoms again.
got this from somebody that said they had a power problem in Their house. I replaced the main board with 1 for a 47 inch vizio and even though it now powered up the screen was all distorted and sTreched. obviously the 47 inch panel in the 42 inch panel are not compatible. So I soldered The EEPROM in from the original 42 inch version mainboard and then all the sudden I have a no power situation no standby light and the TV would not power on so I figured it was a bad EEPROM. So I ordered a new one. Still have the same issue. Getting power from the supply and all fuses on mainboard are ok. Any ideas?

I am looking / wondering if anyone knows where a good firmware download link is for a LC-60LE640U, the sharp support sight says the screen is archived but offers no links.

                                          I see backlite is active,

but I cannot get the screen to return back to menus , etc

This is all after replacing the mainboard...

                                          any assistance is greatly appreciated.

                                          Hi everyone,

I've got a little "problem child": my Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1, which had a faulty mainboard.
I replaced it, but ever since, the touchscreen no longer works — and honestly, I’m running out of ideas…

In Windows Device Manager, I just see an I2C HID Device with error code 10. Sporadically, the touchscreen is recognized correctly for just a few seconds, but I haven’t been able to determine under which circumstances this happens.

The touchscreen also doesn’t work in UEFI/BIOS, although it’s enabled...

Vizio M43-C1 - How closely do I need to match the mainboard number?
                                          by Devonavar
I have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.

I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).

Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346

So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

                                          The reboot loop...

IH all, Got this vizio tv P65-E1 from FB marketplace hoping to be able to reflow mainboard as selerrstated that it was diagnosed with bad mainboard. However they must have tried to repair tv by putting another board in and they put P55 board in .
Tv starts and responds to remote but screen does not look right , It looks like low resolution with some image ghosting. Now not having original board I dont know what to order ? Any advice how to figure out what exact board fits this tv ?
And another question Would it be possible to adopt this board to this tiv by chagning eeprom or tcon...
