Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
im still trying to find a replacement fuse in a link for you what budm is suggesting is while your waiting for a fuse to come use a fuse you have if it doesnt blow your probably fine just to replace it if it does blow theres a short on your board somewhere and may have to order more parts or a replacement board.Comment

Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
some mainboards imo just cant be repaired economically or need special tools so even for the best engineers a board swap is some times needed.Comment

Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
Thanks, I will keep that in mind. ShopJimmy does not have my mainboard in stock. I will try the car fuse tonight and continue reading/watching youtube vids to see what else I can check to find a solution to the problem. This is my first tv electronic project and it has become very intriguing.Comment

Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
I soldered a 5a fuse to the faulty fuse and was able to get power to additional parts of the board(THANKS BUDM). I am getting correct voltage out of the powerboard. I checked all of the 3 pin regs and all seemed to have correct voltage with exception to the following:
U6
1117
pin 1 = 6.88
pin 2 = 8.14
pin 3 = 12.23
U4
1117
pin 1 = 0
pin 2 = 1.24
pin 3 = 3.31
TU4
1122
pin 1 = 0
pin 2 = 0
pin 3 = 0.13
U33 next to the main rail is a 4 pin(ea. side) the bottom side has 11.76/12.23/11.76/12.23 but the top has no voltage.
The sensor connector has (right to left) 1.20/5.13/0/0
I'm not getting any voltage from the main back to the inverter-on and the standby. So right now when I plug the tv in the vizio light on the front goes straight to white with no orange standby.
Anything standout to anyone?Comment

So are you getting 24VDC at the inverter, and do you also get PS_ON, BL_ON signals?Never stop learning

Can you remove the connectors so I can see the labeling of each pin of the connectors? The wires are in the way.Never stop learning

Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
BTW, what voltage do you get now on these two ICs that you were getting 0V before?:
U6
1117
pin 1 = 0.00
pin 2 = 0.00
pin 3 = 0.00
tab = 0.00
U8
7805CT
RAE947G
pin 1 = 0.00
pin 2 = 0.00
pin 3 = 0.00

Re: Visio VL470M No Picture
OK, check the DC voltage on the ON/OFF (PS_ON), INV_ON (BL_ON: Backlights ON) using black probe on the chassis, red probe on the pin, check when TV is OFF and when TV is ON.Never stop learning

have you tested this with or without the connector from the main board being in the socket?Comment

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by cstoutHello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.
The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.
I can't find any schematics... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... - Loading...
