My Samsung TV model LN40B530P7N, is not functioning properly. It began when the display distorted the colors after about 10-15 minutes of use (before the picture was perfect). I was able to adjust the color/brightness options to correct the issue until now. The picture is saturated with brightness immediately when I turn the TV on and i cannot adjust the brightness/back-light to compensate. Attached is what the picture looks like with all the brightness taken out. I went into the service menu to make changes and nothing I tried was successful, I even reset to factory settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Samsung LN40B530P7N
I think it's the big chip on the second photo, is it labeled AS15? (AS15-F, AS15-G, etc)
If you have that chip, do you see the test points labeled Vgma1, Vgma2, ..., Vgma22,
Measure each voltage in order for each test point and report it here.Last edited by Glitcher; 07-12-2014, 08:52 PM.

U21, AS15 GAMMA IC more likely to be bad. Yes, check those GAMMA Voltages and report each DC Voltages.Never stop learning

Re: Samsung LN40B530P7N
Replacing it is somewhat tricky, but can be done if you have done surface mount work in the past. All AS15-F are interchangeable. You can also use AS15-U and AS15-H. Replacing the board will also work although a future failure may occur using an older board and IC.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung LN40B530P7N
Just a quick question. I think I may also have a bad as15-g, when testing voltages on the pins, where should I get my ground from? The metal chassis, or the ground pin on the plug from the wall?
Also us there any particular pins I should do? I see some threads that only have 24pins of the 48 total listed, whare others list just particular pins listed.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Samsung LN40B530P7N
Did you try reading the thread? you dont measure on the pins you measure on the test points. Use the chassis or a groundscrew attaching the tcon to the chassis.
Please can you updata your profile with country and mains voltagePlease upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Samsung LN40B530P7N
Country updated. And yes I did read through the thread, along with many others trying to figure out where to test.
Edit: I can't find anything on my tcon board that says vgma1, 2, etc.Last edited by OneAn9ryN00b; 08-03-2014, 05:53 AM.
