Samsung LNT4071 FX/XAA no picture with lines

Hey all, gotta non working Samsung LNT4071 FX/XAA

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/222ccrm00z...707_154756.jpg

This is what it looks like when the tv is turned on. The the discolored band down the center seems to be the menu, as it shifts after a few seconds from the left of the screen to the center. Here is a picture of what happens when you change channels:

When you plug in a source you get sound, but as far as picture, you get this:

First thought after some research was the TCON board. Ordered a new one off ebay that said it was pulled from a working tv with a cracked screen. Swapped it with no change. Then, I thought it was the FRC board, bought and swapped that as well with no change. So now I'm stuck. I've reseated the 4 TCON ribbon cables as well as the cables going to the FRC board and main board, also with no luck. It seemed like playing with the TCON ribbon cables made the lines come and go, but there is still no menu whatsoever. Does the TCON provide the menus? Before messing with it you could make out the small input display in the top left, but that seems to be gone now as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like a bad panel to me, I have a couple of Samsung's that look like this and nothing can be done for em.

If you flex the bezel does it change? Looks like the tab bonds to the glass from the TFT boards have failed.

Also, try unplugging 2 of the 4 ribbon cables from the T-con to the TFT board up top and turn the panel on, does the unplugged side of the screen turn grey/black any change?

Thank you for your reply. I was afraid of that being the case. Here are some pics of it with the right side ribbon cables unplugged:

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
            by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

            Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
            by TR103
            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
            - sound and backlight, but no picture
            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
            - it keeps rebooting
            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
            by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
            by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...
