    LG 42LG5010 - Bad T-Con ?

Hi all, recently acquired this TV, hoping to get it back working again (for my own use).

Symptom: Bright/White screen, can just about see image but very bright.

The T-Con board is T420HW02 - 42T04-C04, I have read (on this forum) that the AS15 chip is prone to failure.

I have done the voltage test as instructed in another thread and these are my results:

    VGMA22 - 7.05v
    VGMA20 - 8.99v
    VGMA18 - 9.49v
    VGMA16 - 12.52v
    VGMA14 - 3.68v
    VGMA12 - 1.43v
    VGMA10 - 1.36v
    VGMA8 - 5.10v
    VGMA6 - 7.63v
    VGMA4 - 14.90v
    VGMA2 - 15.53v

    VGMA21 - 9.17v
    VGMA19 - 11.24v
    VGMA17 - 10.70v
    VGMA15 - 13.38v
    VGMA13 - 1.45v
    VGMA11 - ....... Around +2.0v (increasing and decreasing around 2.0v)
    VGMA9 - .........Around +2.0v (increasing and decreasing around 2.0v)
    VGMA7 - 6.00v
    VGMA5 - 11.63v
    VGMA3 - 15.50v
    VGMA1 - 15.56v

    VCOMF - 6.32v
VCOM - ........ Around +3.0v (increasing and decreasing around 3.0v)
    V303 - 3.30v
    AVDD - 15.72v
    AVDD_F1 - 15.77v

    VGMA - 15.47v
    VGHC - NIL
    VGL - -6.03V (minus 6.03v)
    VGH - NIL
    YV1C - 2.64v
    INSDA - 3.26
    12VIN - 11.91

Can someone please decipher these fiquires for me, I have no idea what they should be. Thank you for any help

The gamma chip is definitely bad. The voltages from VGAMA1 to VGAMA22 should either rise or fall slowly but only one way.
e.g. 1,3,5,7,9V is OK and 15,10,5,2,1V is OK, but 1,3,2,7,4,10V is not good.
That's the gist of it - there's a bit more to it but that finds most failures like this one.

If you have good soldering technique you can also replace the AS15-F chip.

Thought about that tom, but I am not confident in soldering such a small chip lol It is tiny! Soldering parts on the PSU is my limit at the moment

I do know a guy that can replace the IC chip, but hasn't got back to me on a price. How much do people charge for this repair?

          Cheers

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
              by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
              by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
              by Hakuu
              Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

              More Details

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
              by Daren87
              Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
              by alltvrepairs
              Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

              Appreciate your help....
