32" Element LCD Model ELEFW327 won't power on

Has standby light but won't power on, here are some pictures of the main board which includes the power supply, the rail connector with voltages measured are written on in one of these pics on paper so they can be compared with the pictures of the connector.

I checked voltage across the main capacitor and got 168 VDC, the two diodes side by side top one (D89) has 102.8 VDC on the cathode and the bottom one ( D88) has zero voltage, the anode end of the bottom diode (D88) appears to be going to the what appears to be the inverter transformer.

PS_ON STBY are not labeled on the board so I'm assuming that the far right red wire at 4.95V is STBY and the other pins with 1.89 or .05 could be PS-ON not being for sure, I did not try to force on the PS with a 1K resistor but do have one. Please someone with more knowledge than myself give me some direction of what to do next, Bud M is always very helpful. Thanks

Is this the only board? Pics of all boards, if possible.

The only other board is the T-Con, here's a picture of it and the TV with the back sections removed.

Did a close visual inspection and didn't see any bulging caps or burned/damaged components, here are some regulator types and voltage readings.

        UL1 L1117B
        Pin 1 .01 V
        Pin 2 3.3 V
        Pin3 4.96V

        UL41 LD1117A
        Pin1 1.27V
        Pin2 2.51V
        Pin3 4.95V

        UL51 LD1117A
        Pin1 .58V
        Pin2 1.83V
        Pin3 4.15V

        UT1 1117B
        Pin1 .01V
        Pin2 3.31V
        Pin3 4.95V

I need to figure out which pins on the rail connector CN1 are PSON and STBY, I have an idea but not 100 percent sure. Is there a schematic somewhere on line? Need help please..

          Thanks in advance

re you sure the diode has 102volts on it? It is meant to be on the "cold" side
            according to the board.

Have you tested the diodes ( without them being powered.)

It's the two diodes near the transformer near the top left, board is labeled Hot.

Re: 32" Element LCD Model ELEFW327 won't power on

HOT is to the left of the broad hatched white line

Have you a picture of the back of the board

Also it is a led tv so there is no inverter so no inverter transformer

EDIT a couple of known possile problems

Re: 32" Element LCD Model ELEFW327 won't power on

Yes you're right it is an LED, I wasn't thinking about no inverter transformer,Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I had my meter on chassis ground and yes had the voltage on one diode but not the other as I stated post #1 also look directly above the pair of diodes and at the very top of the board that one also has 102.3 VDC on the cathode and is on the cold side of the board.

I tested those 3 diodes in circuit with power off and they seem to be normal.

                  Thanks for your help.

PS, I sent an email to Shopjimmy about the eeprom, athough it's a slightly different model and board number, but I'm hoping that my board also has the same eeprom problem, if so I can try that next.

I still dont think it should be 102 v can you trace where that top diode goes from the 102v pin. If it goes to those two electrolytic caps what voltage are they rated for?

Is that square chip with 2.5 legs a mosfet and is the black dot a logo or has it blown a hole.
                    Part number readable?

Not sure if it's a mosfet, yes the black dot is a logo Not a hole. Shopjimmy is going to program a EEPROM for my board next week, I'm hoping that once I replace it that will fix my problem. Thanks again selldoor for helping. I appreciate it.

Got EEPROM in mail today from Shopjimmy, I replaced it and now this Element TV is working great, powered right on after replacing EEPROM. Thanks to Shopjimmy for making and selling it to me. Thanks to everyone else for the help.

Great news, I hate EEPROM problem because it is hard to tell if it is EEPROM is scrambled or the component failure.

There seems to be different main boards for this Element model, mine is board number
L12080047-2A04369 (ST3151A04-1) the EEPROM is identified on the board as UF11, it's located just to the left of the main processor (large chip)..

So if you do have this model TV and Have the symptoms where it has the standby light but will not power on and you decide to order an EEPROM, don't just order one by model number make sure it's the right one for your board, otherwise it won't work.

Also I want to thank selldoor for posting the link about the EEPROM problem.

I have same TV & board and need eeprom also. How do I remove the eeprom and replace it? It is very tiny and there isn't much space around it.
