    Hi tom

Is this what you wanted tested?

I also removed the buffer board and it's still ok.

Do you have anymore ideas and thanks for all your help.

    Cheers
    Chris

It does seem like your Y-main is bad but I am reluctant to suggest replacing it until it is determined whether the panel killed your buffer in the first place.

Re: Samsung ps51d6900 dk will not switch on

so is their anything else I can test to confirm it's the y-main at fault?

Can I test the screen in any way?

or is it a case of replace the y-main and see if it works but might not last?

The y-main board is about 25 delivered with a return policy, is it worth the risk?

        Cheers for all your help

For a 51" 6-series Samsung I think it's worth the risk, but it's your money. Any cracked panel is a risk. It might work then die or it could be fine or it could blow up immediately...

Cheers for getting back Tom, I have ordered the board and will let you know how it goes.

Re: Samsung ps51d6900 dk will not switch on

              Hi tom

Unfortunately this has not worked, I have redone your test as before and the results are the same. The only thing I did diferantly was before I powered it up I kept the ribbons disconnected to do the tests first without the screen connected and it was the same as before. I then connected the ribbons and done all the tests again and it gave the same results.

              1. VS-ADJ = starts at 207v then drops to under 10v (same as before)
              2. VSCAN = holds a solid -187.3v then after about 15 sec drops right off (it did this the last time but quicker)
              3. VSC-OUTL TO VSC-OUTH = nothing with the power on or off, volts or ohms.

The only thing I noticed was when checking the VSCAN it would hold the voltage and make a strange hum from the y-main board followed by a few clicks then the voltage drops from -187.1 to under 10.

Do you still think it's the screen if this fault was their before I reconnected the ribbons?

              Cheers for your help
              Chris

Re: Samsung ps51d6900 dk will not switch on

I'm struggling to explain this fault to be honest.
It's possible you got two dud Y-main boards, but unlikely for them to both have the same failure. Unless this happens when the panel gets cracked. (the board will have been a pull from a cracked panel.)
Do you see any burnt resistors or fuses on the Y-main?

                  Hi tom

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I have had a look and can't see any burnt resistors!

with regards to the fuses, as in a small standard fuse that you would find in a plug..... I cannot see any on that board just one on the power supply board?

                  Thanks again for your help.

Having read a few threads on this set I will start one covering my problem.

Samsung UN70NU6070F Standby Light flashes twice
                      by Nicktronic
                      Hey Everyone,

So I've got this Samsung and the reported issue is that when powered on the backlight comes on, but no picture, no sound, it will flicker, the standby light will flash red twice and repeat the whole process...each loop lasts about 15 seconds.

I've googled the issue and understand it is likely a panel/driver board issue, but was hoping the "tape method" could be successful. Before I did that though, I disconnected the left LVDS cable and powered the TV on. This time I got sound, no picture and the two blink standby light stopped. Did the same...

HP Elitebook 850 G8 CAPS lock flashes 7 times and charging light always on
                      by esqmooo
                      Hi,
I'm facing this issue since this morning. When I try to power it on, the CAPS lock light flashes 7 times (or 6 if not counting the first one when the power button is pressed). The charging light is always on as if the laptop was connected to the charger. The issues started gradually where it would flash the light but after trying multiple time it would power on. I tried to open it and I noticed one coil "1R0 2127" gets hot when the charger is connected. Note: the charging light directly comes on when the battery is connected or the charger is connected.

Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT only standby light
                      by Kaar3l
                      TV: Samsung QLED QE65Q7FNAT
                      PSU: BN4400940A
                      MB: BN94-12832K

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

Hp x360 15-u499nr power light flashes continuously.
                      by CraigR
I have an Hp x360 15-u499nr laptop with a continuous white blinking power light. The laptop does turn on. The light flashes with just the battery and if I disconnect the battery and just use the power cord it still flashes and with both connected it still does. I have updated the bios and tried a hard reset with battery unplugged and power cord unplugged and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. I can't think of what else to try.

LG 39ln540v - red light flashes twice, no power to LED driver?
                      by russpall
                      Hi there,

I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:
                      ...
