    Help ID'ing surface mount fuse

Picked up an older Toshiba 42HL67US with sound but no picture. I found an open fuse on the master inverter. It's got a 'D' printed on it. I think I've ID'd it as a 0.8A fuse. Am I correct?

Its a tricky one there are a number of smd fuses with a D on that are 0.25a

My meter showed about .6A at startup then settled to about .4A

There is no standard rating for the letter of fuse rating. I put my meter in DC A mode and take the current reading with lamps at its highest brightness, then double up that reading. I will go with 1A.

Also measure the size of the fuse. Cause I'm going through that right now. The D def means .250ma. But the voltage that goes through the fuse can vary. But if you get the size measurements you can get a lot closer to the right one. I just ordered two different ones for a inverter fuse I'm replacing. Because mine only has 24v going through it but based off the size of the fuse it matches up with a 125v .250ma littel fuse.

Re: Help ID'ing surface mount fuse

Please understand that voltage doesn't "go through" anything, voltage is a difference in potential energy. In operating the fuse will see almost no voltage drop across it. The voltage rating of the fuse is the maximum the fuse can safely interrupt at full failure current. It should be set to be higher than the maximum supply voltage in most cases.

I installed an identically sized 1A fuse and it's back up and running. I even found a working remote in my bin.
