    Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue

The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?

IDK anything about T-Cons but Im trying to learn.
Is there voltage when the ribbon LVDS cables are connected and video is supposed to be playing?
Reason i ask is perhaps some circuits only activate when there is actual signal coming in.

Did you take a flashlight to the screen and confirm it isn't a backlight issue?

It's not a backlight issue mate.
I can see the backlight turn on.

Well you didn't say that so we don't know. More data you put the better to assist you.

            Thanks for the reply mate.
            So, I got it fixed.
Scotch taped the CKV lines in one half and tadaa it's back to life
The TCON voltages are a bit different when compared to LG panels.
In this case, VONE and VOFFE doesn't show voltages when both ribbons are disconnected.
But in the case of LG panels, I've seen VGH and VGL being present even with the ribbons disconnected.
My initial assumption was the TCON being bad due to the absence of VONE and VOFFE.

Interesting...how did you know to tape the CKV lines? What reference where you going off of to try this?

Sorry about the late reply mate.
Just followed a youtube video which had the exact same issue for a different model. Luckily they both had the same TCON.
