    For BGA reflow experts...

I have attempted all sumed very few reflow processes, and i need to make it better, how do you make yours to have sureness that the balls are really fully reflowed? My temptation was always to do "the slight move" touching very gently an angle, but due to some cases, but maybe 100%, where the previously half working device became totally shut off, i finally understood that the damn "move" makes the balls shorted, so what do you suggest?
    Thanks!.. Muchas gracias..

Flux, don't touch it just reheat it. It'll reseat itself. The professional machines never touch the chip.

But we know, I ain't no expert.

Never satisfaction to talk with you.. i ask to other users, this evening YouTube proposed me a video of Nick's TVs, that he is not exactly the last of the donkeys, where he talk about reflow techniques, he said the right way to ensure the balls reflowing (every) is on top the gentle touch of chip to see it move, i asked him where i do wrong, if i touch the corner instead of the side center, the sequence of the reflows i made tells all the times i made the move, the device became totally dead instead of defective as before.. it 's clearly wrong the way i touch.. the balls fuses together..

if i touch the corner instead of the side center.................. in videos of northwestrepair he noted that bga ic must be gently touched on side center, and not touched on corner.

Generally I do the following, depending on the case I clearly do it when they are small and light, after preparing everything when placing the Vga circuit I leave it slightly tilted in this way when melting the tin the piece sits by itself I get very good results with this

The benninger, i agree with your method, i used it myself, the problem here is i was meaning reflow of the chip without reballing and same old chip..

Hi Davi.p, thanks so much in the cases that I have done it, it has always been doing rebaling many times due to the need to change the alloy, and it has happened indifferently whether I change the component for a new one, or when there is no need to do so, what is almost a norm for me is to change the laeation during reballingThe choice of alloy I take based on the function of the VGA itself, taking into account the maximum temperature at which it can work are variables that help you decide.

my answer is to use a very biscuit Flux whatever your preference is, and use a pre heater in conjunction with a heat gun, this for large and heavy VGAs you have to have a lot of experience and a neurosurgeon's pulse, and finally I give small lateral touches very soft but enough to move about 0.25mm you know very slight but that you can barely observe, I wonder if there is some kind of vibration generator that will help in that but I don't know if there is

In the case that it is rectangular like a notebook processor I choose one of the longest sides I position myself right in the middle of this side and give small and soft thrusts in the way I already mentioned, since it is completely square I don't care from which side I do it, in any case I always try to be comfortable in an ergonomic position if possible with the space around it well cleared, I even do some relaxation techniques breathing ect, this is also one of the reasons why I do not consume alcoholic beverages unfortunately

BEST 505 Vs Mechanic Brand Reballing Balls with Lead
                    by Stanley1843
                    Hello,
has anyone use these Brands of solder balls? The brand BEST writes on the label of the jar the specs of the solder balls instead of the Mechanic brand. I beleive that BEST brand must be more professional (in labeling at least) but I have never try one of them so I would like your opinion. By the way I hardly can I find the Mechanic brand in aliexpress (the only where I found was lead free solder balls) and on ebay these that I found are approximately15USD per jar. If you know any other trusted brand of solder balls please tell me.

                    Hello all,

I am experimenting a bit with reflowing larger components - ideally I'd like to reflow a PS4 APU or a GPU for example.

I know it's impossible to reflow such large components with just hot air so I bought a pre-heating plate, T-8280 classic Chinese machine, which seems to be working fine besides it's a little slow, which shouldn't be a big deal.

Now, my hot air station is a Aoyue 852A++ and I feel it's a bit weak when used with larger nozzle. I tried reflowing a laptop chipset using one of those large, rectangular, nozzles and I failed miserably,...

What are the 2 or 3 most used BGA balls sizes please ?
                    by corrize
Hello, I want to buy BGA balls (not stencils, only balls) but I don't know what size, it's just for reballing the new chip balled if the first attempt fail. So I will rarely use it. Probably chips are PMIC with max 60 balls. I don't need to reball EC chips from laptops of big chips like that.
So what are the 2 or 3 most used BGA balls sizes I should have for cover the jobs please ?

Google Pixel 5 - Proximity Sensor Issues - Reflow/Replacement procedure tipps wanted
                    by groomit
                    Hi,
I just replaced the battery on a Google Pixel 5.
After that the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly any more. It is constantly activated. So when playing a voice message on Whatsapp, the Screen instantly turns off.
Checking with a sensor app I can verify weird behavior of the sensor. It is triggered when nothing is near and sometimes works correctly when squeezing the phone next to the sensor hole.
The rubber seal is on again (as mentioned in various suggestions in other forums).

This smells like a cold or broken solder joint. So I'd like to reflow...

SEF 551.10 - Error starting the reflow oven.
                    by bpjl
                    Hello,

When starting the SEF 551.10 reflow oven, the following problem occurs:

It seems to me that this is related to corrupted software. Does anyone have files that can fix this device? Or maybe someone uses such an oven and is able to make a sector copy of the memory card located in the computer controlling this oven?

PS.: Of course, appropriate emails for help have been sent to the manufacturer and distributor in my country. No response yet, but I don't expect much. It's a fairly old device and from what I know, it's no longer...
