Panasonic TX-L42ET5B - how to change language?

Hello! I have exchanged the mainboard TNPH0993 in my TV Panasonic TX-L42ET5E (E like Europe) for the same board which comes from TV TX-L42ET5B (B like Britain). The TV works properly, but in menu is missing the possibility to set the language and the region of use. I tried to set it in the service menu, but there it isn't possible either. In the end I upgraded firmware on the newest version for Europe models and expected it to help, but it didn't. The two items in the menu are still missing. So my question is: " How can I set this board from Britain TV model to the Europe model?" I think it must be possible, the boards are exactly the same, only the settings (softwares) are different. Just the menu on the picture is missing.

Note from Admin on the now removed reply - please do not be snarky with people asking for help. Especially if it's simply a minor issue with how someone words their post.

I don't know how it works in these sets, but i know there is a settings eprom on the MB, you can try to copy the content of the one on original MB to the new MB, or swap the ic, then perform a service reset, i don't think it works but who knows?

I have here one mechanically damaged original board type E. I wanted to swap some of the memories, but I was said it is not possible, because all the memories are associated vith the processor. They must have the same numbers written in them. The numbers would have to be changed, but I am not able to do it.

I don't know this info on this particular model, you can try it, if you are skilled enough in simple smd works like this there's no risk.. have you got sop8 clip?

There are SPI, NAND and DDR memories on this board. You are only speaking about SPI memory. Yes, I have the sop8 clip and I could download the dates from that SPI memory on original board and write to another one. But I think, it would be useless. There are only the personal settings in this memory, not software. I will wait for opinion of other technicians for now. Thank you.

Post the marking of every sop8 chip on the board, i recall a 24c type eprom, but not easy to recognize

There is only one EEPROM on the board. It is 24C64F.

Yes that is the settings eprom, you don't need other memories, try it, clean the chip before with a bit of IPA and let it sit for a couple minutes because of oxydation before read it..

I did it, how you had advised me. I downloaded the contents of the EEPROM on the Europe board and then uploaded it into the EEPROM on the English board. It worked. You were right. I am happy now. My TV is working properly - it has full menu and all the function. Thank you very much. Have a good time!

                        Ok, happy to hear,. bye...

PS: just my curiosity, it worked before or after the service menu reset?

It worked immediately, without service menu reset.

Sorry for my curiosity... prior the eeprom programming, have you launched the reset in some way and not ended the first setup?

I programmed a new EEPROM. Then I soldered it onto the board. Then I inserted the board to the TV. After the switch on I was asked for the first set up - choosing of the language, region etc. There was needed to do nothing more in service menu.

And what kind of violation can you do by posting a working dump to help others, I probably posted about a thousand dumps on this forum along with corrected dumps...
