Re: 50" Sammy 5084 plasma with half screen vertical lines

Just reporting back that this unit is still working, I still see some green specks on occasion but when you are at the 8ft recommended viewing distance it looks normal.

I am going to call this a lucky fix as I know most of the time the vertical lines are death of a panel.

And Tom66 the buzzing with the back off is pretty quite, I think these 4 copper deals attached to the Y and X boards that hit the back of the panel actually vibrate and make the buzzing more noticeable. when I move the TV around it gets louder (with the back on) with the back off and moving it the normal low buzz didn't change.

Anyway thanks to all who gave me input and helped!

      Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
      by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
      by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...

LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE - Vertical Lines on Half of The Screen?
      by ItalianSat
      Hello Everybody,

I have a 40 inch LCD SAMSUNG LE40A656A1CXXE. Its problem is that there are Vertical Lines on Right Half of The Screen.

Interestingly enough, when I move my mouse (in the case if connected to a PC) or when I am watching the TV, lines also move. At first appearance, I had thought that the problem might arose from loose vertical ribbons (COF), but when I opened up the TV for further investigations, I realized that the problem cannot be solved by touching them.

Moreover, I detached the T-CON board for a new round of investigation. I personally...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
      by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...
