    The Swap-Shop Thread....

There's a fair few guys I see regularly on this Forum repairing TV sets and like them I have accumulated lots of boards and parts etc.
--As part of my last job, Ive accumulated probably half a garage load of boards from LCD's and Plasmas, all sorts of makes/models...

But--often don't have the board or part that I need for a specific repair....

    Sooo....

My ideas was to start a thread listing my wants in a hope that you may have what I need and I have what you need, so we may swap.....

My current needs are a Mainboard for a Panasonic TH-42PX80B
And believe it or not, a Mainboard for a Panasonic TH-37PX80B
--both have different faults, both I have failed to find.

    Both M.B's are TNPH0711.

    Re: The Swap-Shop Thread....

I have 1 Good TNPH0800 Mainboard and one that is from an out-door unit so shows signs of surface rust...

The other is from a TC-P42C2 that fell off the wall; it has a TNPH0831 but the coaxial connector is ripped off of it and I have removed that box from the board but still have it so it can be properly matched...

Looking for a few power supplies and Z-sys boards for LG based plasmas...

      Looking For:
      Pioneer -AXY1059- PSU
      Vizio/LG -6870QZH004B- Z-Sys Board or STK795-820/821 or LG Compatible
      Fujitsu/Panasonic PSU -NPX563MD 1C-
Zenith/LG -6870VM0424A- PFC Board or other compatible

I have Panasonic parts I have 2 of each one set is out of a unit that got hit with a baseball the other had a good screen and what seems to have been an outdoors set; you will see in the photo of the SC board and the buffers together that there is some bad resistors and such and the buffers could be ok... this set of parts is for parts only and the other with the bad RF box is the only 1 i have and that is the issue with it... as photoed.

Got all the bits for a PS42B450 Samsung except the Y-buffer, X- and Y-main boards.

I've also got a main A/V board for an LG plasma, 42PC1D but may work with other models.

Currently--off the top of me 'ed as it were.....

I have all the internal boards for a Samsung PS-43C450.--Scrapped that on Saturday--broken PDP--Bloody thing looked new too!

All boards for a Sams. PS-42C450--couple of sets of those....

Boards from a Sams. PS-50C summit or other....

G type Panasonic 42" and 50" sets--complete contents--various models, The ones with combined PSU/X-SUS and buffers/Y-SUS, from sets with broken PDP's...

Got lots of nice goodies--All I want as swap for a board or two--Is a Mainboard or two suitable for me two Panasonic PX80 sets!

So--IF anyone has a Mainboard,--TNPH0711 (I know there are a few variants--but I'll take a chance) Tell me what board you need, and I'll look through all my stuff.....
--Chances are, I'll have summit, must have scrapped 500 odd sets over the last year or so.....

---Please however, bear in mind I'm in the UK, and shipping may be a deal-breaker, also I'm not into selling boards, Just swapsies at the moment......

What's up with the Sharp main board? I think I've fixed one of those before...an easy fix.

                    Re: The Swap-Shop Thread....

                    Fault is--

Turn on, green STDby light, stay on for 4-5 seconds, no Backlight, No BL-ON, No BL/Dim,

then relay click off at PSU, BL supply sinks down slowly from 24V.

Removing BL-on and BL-Dim from plug, shoving 4v up 'em, turn on set, get backlight instantly the 24V is there--until set shuts down again after 4-5 seconds.

The PS-On (1 and 2) both fall together at same time relay clicks.

The three voltage-regs on underside of M/B seem to perform as expected, pin 2 active and gives supply on pin 3 --until set turns off.....

One reg.--I think the 3.3V is active whether set on or off.

Disconnected the T-Con and the 'common-interface' boards-- no difference.

Those LG's you have, doubt there's any hope for 'em to be honest--Once the tabs fail or are damaged--thats basically it for em--unless you can pack them and get the connection back--But in your case, they are all corroded too.....
--Best you can do with 'em is sell off the parts TBH....

Alastair I would Like to chat to you, being as we are local to each other about TV's on one of the LG the conectors are ok, just some corroded resistors and a bad track. This is one I want to fix as its a 3d model. But a chat be nice as I am getting really into this and you seem a man in the know. Dont worry I am not after loads of free repair tips lol

That panasonic has been a bit of an pita. I got as far as taking out PSU to have a gander for soemthing obvious. As I am an electronic engineer by trade and I have worked mostly on projectors for myself and MOD for work.

With the corroded track--IF its on the flexible Mylar film between the board and the panel--thats basically the end of it.
If its on the PCB board--maybe it can be bridged out depending on your soldering skills and its size....
The resistors--well, thats another issue, Are they actually faulty or physically damaged? Being part of the panel--its often not possible to find the schematic to determine the values.

As to a chat--sure, give us a shout on the weekend.....

No the broken tracks are on the PCB between 2 resistors and a pad where a resistor was meant to go for a different configuration probably but was not installed. The resistors ends are corroded to the point there open circuit. If I put an iron on them they would probably turn to dust. I have the value of the resistor as its 1K (102) writen on it but the caps are a different kettle of fish.

You know it would be really neat if there was some way to organise this. I was thinking of two things, one thing is finding TV parts (so a TV parts search engine) and the other thing is trading TV parts. Users could submit what they have and what they want. I think money should stay out of it though; too many issues dealing with returns etc.

Maybe when I get some time I'll implement them. Bit busy now with unrelated projects.
