I am repairing a L32WD12 RCA tv. I already replaced the 6 caps in the main power supply that were obvious bad but the TV still only shows the red standby light and won't fully power on.
There is a small standby board in between the main power jack and the power board. The little board has a couple of capacitors and relay and other electronics on it. The red/white 110v go directly to that board and then from there to the main board. I assume that the standby board shuts off power to the main power board to save electricity.
My main question is it okay to directly apply 110v to the red/white wires going to the main power board bypassing the standby to make sure the television powers up and functions?
