LG 50PJ350 - Horizontal lines through panel

Hey guys, I've got an LG 50PJ350 plasma here which has vertical lines running through the top of the screen. It is also experiencing power supply issues and fails to turn on sometimes (clicking noise, apparently a common issue and I have ordered a repair kit) however I would like to know what could be causing this issue before continuing to attempt repairs on this unit.

Here's a picture, thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi,
Looks to me a Y-buffer (1st upper) chip dead or tab bond problem.
If it is the chip it may aloso explain the power-on problem.

Reseat the top most Y-buffer cable. If that does not do it, you may be looking at a bad panel problem.

Just an update here, opened it up and sure the top most y buffer ribbon cable wasn't properly secured. Still having issues turning on however I believe it's a power supply issue and a repair kit is on its way.
Thanks very much for the help guys, much appreciated.
