    Sharp LC-60LE835 vertical lines

Hi all. The TV in question is one that was exposed to high heat-humidity conditions during its short operating history. I received it, and its twin from a friend who was getting rid of them. I repaired both of them by 1) replacing the main boards so that I would have reliable external connectors (hdmi, cable, etc) and 2) replacing the touch control pads, which were pre3venting the units from powering on. After the repairs, both TV's came alive and delivered absolutely sensational video and audio.

That was then. Last Friday, I was moving one of the TVs to its new home, (the mother of the guy who gave me the TVs). When I plugged it in I got a screen full of colored vertical lines. see picture. (sorry for the picture quality, but I had to focus off a mirror, and that obviously doesn't work that well.) Anyway, I think you get the picture.

I have have reseated the LVDS cable at both the MB and TCON, and also reseated the ribbon cables from the TCON to (the board they connect to). It has had no effect. I am able to manipulate the display somewhat. By disconnecting one of the narrower ribbon cables from the TCON, I can eliminate the vertical lines on its side of the screen.

I suspect that the LVDS cable coming from the MP is the cause. While disconnecting it today, it appeared the the cable was ever-so-slightly canted into the LVDS connector.

Anyone have any other thoughts? I'd love to hear them!
    Regards

I reconnected LVDS cable making sure that it would make good contact with the on board connector. No Change. Swapped ends of the cable aand reconnected... no change.

Connectors look clean and shiny, no evidence of corrosion.

Looking back on the sequence of events that resulted in this failure, it seems that the LVDS cable is the most likely culprit. TCON is also a possibility but less so since everything was working, and only two inputs ( LVDS cable and Power cable) were handled in making the original repairs.
I have read somewhere about debonding. I assume that means a semi-permanent loss of ground to the panel. Could that have happened while I was moving the set. Would that cause the vertical lines I'm seeeing?

After viewing your pix I would lean towards a bad screen. Being that the loaded source drive data lines you see here are of all 3 color gender, not a red all, not a green all or just 2 color mix , leads me away from a T con. I could be wrong.

        Thanks for the response.

I just double checked. I'm not sure what "loaded source drive data lines" are, but I think what you see is an artifact of the poor focus in the picture. Believe me, the lines represent red greens yellows, blues, purples, cyans, magentas, blues... any color you could name.

Could be a screen problem but seems too uniform.

            Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
            by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesnโ€™t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed๐Ÿ™
            by Daren87
            Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

            by gpo23
            Hello,

            i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

            Thank you for your help

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
            by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
            by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...
