Not in my experience. The average plasma TV will last longer and is more durable. LED TVs have tons of unrepairable panel faults. The only serious disadvantage of the technology is it uses a lot more power but that's not important to me as I watch maybe 5 hours of pre-recorded TV a week.

Plasmas are good if you avoid the low end junk like Samsung 4-series.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
        by vincentedel
        Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54. displays on the external monitor and works fine, the issue is NO display on the internal screen
        by DqMagetz
        Good day!
I have a customer's laptop — Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 (EH5VF - LA-H501P). It has a display on the external monitor and it's working fine, but the issue is NO display on the internal screen. I already replaced the eDP cable and checked the LCD connector pins.

        Here are the voltage readings:
        • Input – 19V (stable)
        • +LCDVDD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
        • EDP_HPD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
        • PCH_BKL_PWM – 2.2–5V briefly, then drops to 0V
        • EC BKOFF# – 1.8V briefly, then drops to 0V
        • PANEL_OD_EN – 0.3V

Is it possible that the EC chip is corrupted or damag...

Dell Latitude 3510 Overheating & Fan Control Issue – Need Help
        by Ven
Dell Latitude 3510 (Intel Core i7-10510U) CPU Overheating

        Issue Description:
        1. CPU Overheating to 100°C
          • When I start the laptop from a cold state, it takes about a minute to reach temps around 80-90-100°C, and CPU thermal throttling triggers.
          • When the CPU fan is running at full speed (by disconnecting PWM and TACH cables), CPU temperature stays around 50-60°C.
          • However, when the fan is connected normally to the motherboard, it does not kick in at high temperatures.
          • I also noticed a few times that the fan kicked in for a very short time, but it does not stay on consistently.

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
        by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

How to fine control a brushless dc motor
        by delir66
Hi, I'm building a pottery wheel for my wife.

Since it needs to reverse direction and have a nice control over rpm, I decided to pick a diy electric scooter motor.

It operates at 48v and comes with a controller.

It has three wires for speed control
        -5v
        -gnd
        -signal.

The problem is that if I use a 100k pot, motor starts spinning when 1.4v and will get to max revolutions at 3.4v. With this 2v range, the potentiometer is not really ideal, as it will change suddenly rpm with the slighlest touch.
        I need something...
