Hi All. A friend gave me a free plasma tv that would not turn on. Plug in it just clicks once that's it. LG 60PB4DT. He told me that it was the power supply (it had been replaced years ago under warranty). I recently fixed a Samsung LCD tv that had bad caps. It was obvious which caps were bad.
I checked the two power supply boards for bad caps (just visually) could not see any bad ones (swollen, leaking or popped). I started checking the fuses, main AC power, then DC power on the board with the "one click" transformer (EAY32961901).
I found dc volts 65 at a GND plug terminal (P817_1)! I take that to mean there is a short to ground somewhere on that board?
Any ideas on what's bad? Could a bad cap do this? Or is it better to just replace this board (power supply).
