Hi I can't seem to get hdmi working on this tv, avi lead works fine but once I plug in the hdmi lead I just get a message from my Virgin box saying hdmi not available
Another HDCP fault. Sorry, probably not fixable. TV has been blacklisted so cannot play protected content.

Oh got it cheap the tv would not power up the guy said he tried changing the caps but he made a bit of a mess so changed some bulged caps then the tv was working
Still usable as a basic TV via component video and Freeview.

Yes possibly if you could find a newer revision mainboard.

Hey tom have they really blacklisted hdmi keysets ? I don't follow that stuff but I just thought that would be the last thing they would want to do since the system has been compromised anyhow and doing so would just infuriate affected consumers more.
This was back when HDCP hadn't yet been broken. I think they've stopped doing it now.
It really is completely pointless as you can easily see by googling "<film name> filetype:torrent" that there are tons of Blu-Ray rips of films available, in the highest quality possible. (Up to 40GB per file, wow.)

I doubt it'd work, but you have little to lose by trying it.

Ok haven't tried the reset yet but the confusing part is everytime I message someone asking about a replacement board I always get the same revision number come back Date 2008.01.28, so my question is how do I find a newer version main board ?

HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) keys are required for operation of a HDCP
device. For the TFP501 these are stored in an external EEPROM with I2C interface. The
TFP501 must load keys from the external EEPROM each time power is applied. After an internal
power-on reset and short delay, the TFP501 begins to read from the EEPROM. It checks to see
that the EEPROM acknowledges access, and reads a header in the first locations of the
EEPROM to learn what data is stored in the EEPROM. The following sections describe
considerations for selecting an EEPROM and system operation. Normal operational waveforms
are shown as examples for comparison to a new application. Some other typical waveforms are
shown for diagnosis of unexpected system behavior.
so replacing a new board might fix my tv hdcp error ?
ok found another board still the same revision date but i have been reading on some forums that a replacement board worked, so ill update this thread when it arrived so fingers crossed
