    Hitachi P50H401

Hello. I just picked up a Hitachi P50H401 TV for next to nothing. When I turn it on, it has horizontal lines going across the screen, each about 1/8" wide. There are probably about 20 of them going across the screen. Picture is clear and sound is good. Only problem are these lines. Any suggestions from past experience what might be causing these lines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Joe

Common in these sets, you'll have to reseat all the connections going to the buffer boards. It happens a lot with this panel especially after replacing a buffer board. I'll bet the previous owner may have purchased a replacement buffer and after putting it all back, finds the horizontal lines, assumed a bad panel, and tossed it.

i have a similar model, i replaced one of the buffer boards. the tv now turns on, but with vertical horizontal lines. so, i should reseat all buffer board flex cables only ? or is there anything else i need to check on?

I'm just learning here. So I would like for u to explain what does reseat all the connections mean?

Those lines just about line up with the connector that needs to be reseated. Note which connector(s) need to be reseated then turn the power off and unlatch the connector and pull the ribbon cable out and push it back in perfectly straight and snap the clamp down. Turn the power back on and check the picture. You might have to do this many times. If there are no lines adjacent to a connector, DON'T TOUCH IT.
