    Rca rlc3255a-b doa

So I picked this up yesterday, no indicator lights.
    No SBV
Fuse ok, no shorts and ~165vdc out from bridge.
Looking for SCH, no luck yet...

Closer pic of PSU? Does 5V come back when you pull the power to main board connector out? Any ticking/pulsing sound from power board?

No ticks or hums or clicking don't see any relays anyway..
Tested SBV voltage with main board disconnected.
165v at main cap as well.

Is it MAGMEET MP118A? Pictures is not well focus.
Try heating those two caps with hair dryer to see if the 5VSTBY will start up or replace them.

Thanks Bud I'll give that a try!
Ya under the magnifying glass the 100uF looks bulged(bigger blue )-didn't notice before...

                Re: Rca rlc3255a-b doa

No luck with the hair dryer. Did pull out both capacitors(100mF 35v & 10mF 100v),no shorts, charged them with ohmmeter and drain back with voltmeter idk.
No luck with SCH either, so resorted to fishing.

Did notice short across octo didn't seem right; lifted it it seem ok. There's a sot 6 pin IC in area no idea what it is???
Found N MOSFET (F2HNK60Z) seems shorted , will pull next...
All these components are associated with primary of low voltage transformer.

MOSFET F2HNK60Z shorted D-S ....gate seemingly not shorted.

                  SOT6? PWM controller?

Yes looks to me like a FAN6862...

Seems fried; Vdd,gate,FB all shorted to ground. That explain fault at octo.
                    Can bad caps cause this?!

                      Blown FET can damage IC.
Replace IC, FET, and nearby resistors and diodes.

Thanks Tom, just repaired a similar situation but found some white residue on trace side of board oddly enough. Could that be leaked electrolyte?

So I got off my butt and found my camera, iPad doesn't seem to be cutting it.
Got a pic of the afore mentioned residue, looked like something I saw in 'worst soldering' thread (somebody had a go at it already I think), but what a difference, been squinting through the magnifying glass and camera lens for too long now I can see discrete component markings and ICs way better than naked eye! Would like to get an inexpensive USB microscope/camera...

Anyways, trying to get a parts list together and dunno how to spec PWM controller -mentioned a FAN6862 or similar a while back but there seems lots to choose from and I don't know anything about cross compatibility...

Any suggestions? Pic at least show package marking if that's any help.

Decided since I didn't have a SCH I'd try my hand at drawing one...at least the part that seems bad.
So here goes, most of it seems to make sense...any feedback would be appreciated on the plausibility of the circuits I've tried to interpret.
Btw q9 is the bad/ shorted MOSFET and there are various resistors hi-lighted that look damage as well as no reading/OL.

R80/R81 will likely be low ohms. Are they through hole? Completely unreadable?
                              R73: typically 2~3x R74 value non-critical
                              R74: around 22 to 56 ohms check IC2 datasheet

I think the last pic shows them, r80/81 look like 4 digits.
They are all SMDs... Biggest issue is I don't know what IC2 IS...just guessing by pin layout .

Ya it's a bugger... There are a few in the Fairchild roster that seem like they could work but idk how pick or compatibility issues. It's a $40 psu and available, plus the trace is lifting a bit (probably my fault when re&re ec7)-just trying to challenge myself.

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Diagnosing South Bridge (FH82H370) on Asus H370-Pro Gaming Motherboard

                                        Hi,

I'm learning about motherboard repair and I believe I've traced the issue down for the South Bridge on the particular motherboard I'm working on. My path of concluding that:
                                        - There's no sign of any attempt to power on when pushing the power button.
                                        - No PSON signal is reaching the 24-pin ATX connector.
                                        - The Super IO chip is receiving the PS_SWITCH signal from the power button and is relaying this signal back to the South Bridge.
                                        - The Super IO is not receiving the S_SLPS#_R signal back from the South Bridge
                                        - If I pull the Super IO S_SLPS#_R pin...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                                        by Asraf Atb
                                        Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100

                                        Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
