Old Techwood 32722HD Osd pixels on screen

    Hi,
an old friend of mine wants me to repair this old (not worth it) model. Found standby only. Changed couple of swallen caps 1000uf 16v, 25v in power supply and set is on.
however noticed many digital pixel noise probably originating from OSD. When osd gies off they stay.
Am thinking a couple of caps near cpu.might be the culprit. But cannot afford much time on it anymore as this is almost a free repair.

    Any ideas welcome. Pics attached.

Something to try, heat up the electroytic capacitors on the powerboard for a couple minutes with a hairdryer, then try tv, don't wait til it cools down try it while it's still hot, see if the display changes any.

Have tried that already but it seems that heat doesn't change the symptom. After few hrs the set is very hot inside due to its old design.

This seems like a bad design from beginning, with it getting that hot even if you fix it something else is bound to go bad. Heat kills, your friend is better off grabbing about any newer tv he finds that might need a little work. I don't like giving up on things either but sometimes it's better to let them r.i.p.

Maybe try some more simple things, like cleaning the flat cable ends with isopropyl alcohol, some use a pencil eraser, not to vigorously they can be delicate, but if it's getting really hot I wouldn't sink any money into it.

Maybe also check the solder joints on the powerboard and that smaller one if you have not, can search for images of bad solder joints if needed.
