Big screen sets with metal backs--a Warning....

After suffering yet another deep and bloody gash in my hand from an L.G. steel back-cover from a 50" set, I thought it worth mentioning the hazards that rear cover removal/replacement can cause.

the rear covers are often thin steel sheet metal, pressed out and have Razor sharp edges.

They'll cut fast and deep--You'll not even notice till its too late....

Those of you that aquire sets from recycling-centres or the city dump are at greater risks due to the possibility of Weils Disease, a very dangerous ailment transmitted by vermin urine....

It happened to me too, from an LG 42LV3500 LED thin TV.

Enough Panasonic plasmas that I am riddled in battle scars - always clean after getting cut!

Oh yeah, all it took was one time for me, then I bought a pair of Mechanix gloves that I wear whenever I handle the covers. $15 well spent!

The manufacturers are too lazy to deburr the sharp edges, feel sorry for the workers that have to deal with this everyday.
