1st I'd check the SUB5V, SUB3.3V on main board; close pictures of main board?

        Re: Th-42px80ba

If you need full schematic of A board, see service manual.

        SOS10 checks:
        - DTV9V
        - MAIN9V
        - SUB5V
        - SUB3.3V
        - MAIN3.3V
        - BT30V (via SOS10 ckt)
        - SUB5V (again, via SOS10 ckt)
        - DTV9V (again, via SOS10 ckt)

You might be able find point TPS0S on A board which will go HIGH (>3V) when there is an SOS10 event caused by the last three, otherwise, you need to check the other voltages directly.

Note, TP is on bottom of board - so you will have to lift board up with cables attached and test it there.

It would need to be a lot of on and off.

have you tried this. Hook all the boards up and try disconnecting P6/P7

To troubleshoot a PDP TV that is shutting down and the power LED blinks 10 times:

Isolate the SC and the SS boards (They may cause a 10 blinks shutdown). Disconnecting P6
and P7 allows for only the panel drive section to be driven. If the LED on the SS board and
the LED on the SC board are lid, then the SS and the SC boards are OK and the A board is
                      suspected to be defective

If the LEDs on the SS and SC boards are not lid, then isolate them one at time.

If the SS and SC boards are OK, then the P board may be defective.

I've done it again, don't think this has a D-board in which case don't expect it to work?

I'm thinking leave A52 off but what's the large ribbon? Any evidence of damaged SD or foreign object in there shorting 3.3V line. Measure resistance between pins 1 and 2 of that A52 cable.

well you have found the problem if it's working with a picture. The SD socket or GS board has shorted the 3.3V line which is one of the several voltages Tom had on the list to check.

glad you like to experiment if this is the case, cut the fault finding down real fast.

It is running with a picture ? yes?

Well that's great mate a TV minus a SD reader , no biggy but cheap as chips to buy or remove the assembly and have a close inspection of it. may be salvageable and we have read of kids depositing coins in there.

Hello guys, i need help with this problem, I have a NM-D041 mobo, it came with low impedance in 3v linear regulator rail, the cause was a damaged EC controller ITE8227e-192. I ordered a new one and replaced it. This laptop have a different chip for keyboard management and it8227e pins for programming ITE chips are not accesible through keyboard interface, I flashed it using i2c interface pins with vertyanov programmer because laptop was dead and SPI flash didn't have power (only 3v EC) so it couldn't access firmware stored in SPI memory. I read SPI and extracted it8227 firmware from original BIOS...

Sony OLED XR-77A80J - 5 Flashes But Turn On After Hard Reset

I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

I finished my work for this year, so I'm free until January 6th.
My last task it's unresolved and I'm looking for ideas for the return in January.

This laptop is booting in 3-4 seconds has no password and every voltage is present. So far so good.
My problem is that it doesn't boot from anything. !...just stays with a blank screen(backlight only)
No USB boot (in fact partially no boot...), no PXE boot nor boot from M2.SATA or NVME...crazy...

I have an Hp x360 15-u499nr laptop with a continuous white blinking power light. The laptop does turn on. The light flashes with just the battery and if I disconnect the battery and just use the power cord it still flashes and with both connected it still does. I have updated the bios and tried a hard reset with battery unplugged and power cord unplugged and holding down the power button for 60 seconds. I can't think of what else to try.
