I have a Samsung LN37A550 with same picture issues as the photos shown by T-Rex at beginning of this thread. Based on this thread and other things I've read on this site, it seems to be a T-Con board problem. I just removed the T-Con board and ordered the 'repair service' from Shop Jimmy [they are out of stock on new boards].

I will return to this thread and post the results in a week or so when I get the repaired board back and install it. Thanks for all who posted here - this really helped diagnose the problem.

4/20/14 Update: I got my repaired T-con board back from ShopJimmy yesterday and just installed it back in my tv [LN37A550] today - the picture is back to normal and everything works find.

Thanks so much to T-Rex and everyone for posting the info in this thread; before I came upon this info i was thinking would have to junk this tv and buy a new one. But thanks to this forum I am back in tv viewing business!

Talking of replacing boards - I always repair and replace AS15 / AS19 chips because my theory is at least you know its 100% working with no compatibility issues.

for those that cant replace the chips there are services on ebay for TCON repair here in the UK so imagine other countries have people offering similar services.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
            by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

            Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

            First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
            by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
            by TR103
            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
            - sound and backlight, but no picture
            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
            - it keeps rebooting
            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
            by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
