    Philips 32PFL5404H/12 Doesn't Turn On

    Hi,

I'm having an issue that i'm not being able to resolve.

I have this Philips 32PFL5404H/12 that started to became very hard to turn on, until the point when it simply wouldn't turn on again.. I replaced the power supply board for a new one, and it didn't fixed it. I'm starting to pull hairs here.

It's blinking 27 times.. in the service manual it says that the TV is in normal operation but without video displayed (RF), that the problem is the Multi Standard demodulator (Micronas IF).

Someone knows if is there any way to fix this issue? Or will only a new graphic board fix this issue? Or if it wont?

I'm also sending the service manual for this TV for the case someone else needs it, it's for the chassis Q543.1E LA and the following sets:

    32PFL5404H/12
    37PFL5604H/12
    47PFL5604H/12

    Thanks everyone!

    Regards

Re: Philips 32PFL5404H/12 Doesn't Turn On

The symptom can be caused by wrong diode 6102 (8.2 V i.o. 18 V) on the SSB.
Check and see if the diode is marked with J2. If that's the case you might have to replace that along with a few other parts. If it's marked ZM or 65, it's good.

    Post back with the results.

Check and see if MOSFET 7101 and 7102 are ok.

Sorry to jump into your discussion, but have a same tv issue. Its my first philips and I am very lost. Tv switch on, the backlight turns on and off three times, then black screen. Sound remain.
The picture is very dark. White led on front panel blinks 17 times.

          Sorry again.

Meanwhile, i'm leaving here some photos to help to understand the board. If any more are needed you just say it and i will take it right away!

Are those aluminum component supposed to be like that on the first picture?

            Thanks for everything!

No problem Torentino, maybe it's worth a shot as this topic is about this specific model, maybe someone can help you with this!

Hi again torentino, i've been checking on the service manual of my model, and if i understood correctly the 17 blinks seems to be regarding the power supply board. But maybe someone can tell you if is this the case.. Inspecting visually, does the power suppy have any blown, bleeding or bulging capacitor? Do you know how to test if the ac and dc components are ok? mosfets and such?

              regards

Hi, again. I have checked with osciloscope all voltages, everything seem OK. I tested also HV at the lamps, there are ten lamps, two of them in serial. Voltage is high at four pairs of them, on one pair the voltage is about half, regard the others. I dismantled the panel, checked with test HV supply every single pair of lamps and seems ok. Not glowing so much, because my test supply is weak, but glov approximately one third of every lamp.
                Will post the pictures..

What are the labels for those connectors? There are some printings next to it for showing the pin functions.

My guess would be that they're blown, not sure though, they look kinda funky to me. You could try and replace them and see what happens.

Did you get a look at the mosfets?

OK, what DC voltage do you have at STANDBY and BL_ON when TV is OFF and when TV power switch is activated?

That means the STANDBY (PS-ON) is OK.

                              OK, there is the solution.
Checked the INVOK pin on supply, comes out only 0.2 to 0,6V when inverter starts. Bunch of super miniature components on back side of power (inverter board)
Changed inverter board (about 100$). All works.

                              Thank you all!

                                Dear All,
I have a similar TV with a different problem:

                                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...465#post561465

and everything seem to point a mainboard disfunction.

In my experience, mosfets are quite prone to failure and i found on ebay a repair kit for this kind of tv with 4 mosfets and a chip.

before I should rush on this I noticed 7101 and 7102 looked like the one in the kit and Tampsa said to look at thoose in this thread.

My question is what are they exactly and how could I test them?

Best regards and thanks for your help

You need to either get the diagram of the board to identify the pinout of those chip and its function.
Can you read the P/N as printed on top of the chips? They can be MOSFETs or SMPS ICs.
your board matches the diagram as shown in post 1?
