    Phillips 50pfp5332D/37

Hi, this is my first post as a new member. I am not a TV tech but am skilled with a meter and can read schematics and instructions pretty well. My 50" made a loud crackling sound and powered off (according to my daughter) unfortunately I was not home. When I first tried to light it up again I got the red light, but then the steady blue. No picture no sound.
I took the back off and found no obvious burn out or pregnant caps. When the power button is first hit I hear a relay click but nothing after that. I do not have access to a service manual so at this point I am lost... Help!!

And your meter was set on what?

And you changed the batteries when?

It has been unplugged for about 2 hrs and now reads 5.28, I really have no idea what I am doing! Or even if this is worth fixing though I have had it 6 years trouble free and from what I have read about this particular tv I have been lucky. It had a great picture and sound right up till this problem occured I would buy a replacement power supply just to give it a shot, from what I have read so far it seems that is the most likely cause ( I am still researching though) Any tips would be helpful though. I have plenty of time to play with it. One problem in my search so far is that I cannot match any of the #'s on the board to available replacement part #'s. I read that the first 4 of the serial # would specify what power supply would be proper for this tv. Those are YA1A. The numbers on the board are; From the bar code sticker- QM390174071472, or, LJ44-00144A and PS-506-PH

Wow. Can you test the BIG cap - carefully high voltage to see if it is discharging itself.
Is there no sign of anything that might have gone crackle.
Think we are going to need pictures -one of the set with the back off and one of front and back of the power supply and the connector to the main board

Its a plasma - I know nothing about usual faults on them but there are pages of threads on this particular model. - If you have not read them just type the model number into search. That will give you an idea of what the plasma gurus will be asking you.

Check the fuses on the Y main but dont just replace until you have more comment

here's the service manual for the tv. You have to go by the chassis number on the panel.

I can send pics if I can figure out how to attach it here... I saw no obvious signs of what may have crackled, but she said it was rather loud, I expected to be able to see something as soon as I got the back off.

There's another one of these being fault found on the forum.

                    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...0pfp5332D%2F37

Also check out the y buffer and ymain for shorts(e.g. 88N30W FETs) . Samsung S50HW-YB02 panel, common failure

Search 50pfp5332D/37 and you get a few hits to compare to.

EDIT: Upper buffer on that setup is what commonly shorts. The other I linked reported had a single buffer, but same ymain.

There's a repair kit doc also put in that post that could help.

                              by GRF
I have researched for what seems forever, apparently not in the right places, for the root cause of the issue shown below. Most screen issues I have found have been half screen top or bottom goes black, not what I am showing.

The display is new, yes old tech but was sold and had a screen issue on set up. From what I have found the boards have different names depending on the manufacturer.

Just looking for thoughts on what would cause the issue shown. It wont be getting put back together, just trying to save what I can from it.

                              Thanks in advance....

Yamaha XP7000 Crackling in left channel
                              by xfreakx
                              Hi guys,

I have a problem with the power amplifier Yamaha XP700, I hope someone can help or point me in a direction.

The amp started occasionally to crackle in the left channel which in a short time period got more frequent and after a while the crackling occurred instantly on power on.
While checking for loose connections the amp's protection kicked in and turned the amp off. From then the protection turned the amp off in between 1 - 5 seconds after power on.

I switched the mono blocks for a test to make sure the error is in the block itself...

                              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...
