[Panasonic Lcd TX-L22X20E] 7 blinks of death

    Hi,
tryin' to fix this tv. 7 blinks of death are common on Panasonic but all the discussion i found are related to plasma and/or big tvs.
This 22" tv is most like a monitor, only 2 boards.
So far I disconnected all cfls and the ribbon cable to the monitor but no change.
Caps tested with esr meter have a resistance below 0,20ohm so i think they're ok.
The main problems is that i can't figure out if it's powerboard related or it's the video board.

    This manual might help:-

    7 blinks: SUB 3.3V SOS

It is for 32" minimum, but 22" main board might be the same with only minor differences.

You would need schematic of A board and find 3.3V supply, then try to figure out why it is low.

Re: [Panasonic Lcd TX-L22X20E] 7 blinks of death

I found some smd capacitor shorted on the "A" board. There are 4 groups composed by a sp8k1 or sp8k2, an inductor and 3 caps. I post an image of these groups. I found a cap shorted in 2 of the groups. It's very difficult to desolder smds without damage the pcb underneath.
The tv now works but shuts down after a couple of minutes keeping the green led. Not only cfl power off, also the image goes away.

From these groups I have 5V, 3,3V, 1,8V and 1,2V. Power led blink green then solid but i have no more image nor backlight.

Well, if you remove a cap, you change the behaviour of the circuit. Who knows what that could do to the output when it gets hot or more current drawn?

It seems a power issue. I see the audio optical light turn off and on when it try to start. If I let it powered sometimes it fires up and work for few minutes.
I had only 10uF at home but I think it needs 22uF. I'll buy some.

Well, this morning I played again with that smd capacitors and removed one of mine.
The tv had the same behaviour (try to start and fail in loop). Then I pressed the heatsink to ensure that it make contact with the main processor. Now has been working for two hours...
                Don't know what to think...

Then it's an issue with the solder balls on the main processor.
Looks like you'll have to buy a new board, unless you know, or know someone else who can re-ball that chip

I have a heatgun and some liquid flux, if (or when) it fails again (6 hours working) I'll give them a try.

Well, it failed again half an hour after I mounted the rear cover.
The heatsink chip runs hot so this time, after a vigorous reflow with liquid flux, I added a 5cm fan @5V, barely udible a few inches distant.
Watched a couple of hours fully closed yesterday evening. Let's see in the long distance...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
                        by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                        by Biruslapio
Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

                        Hi,...

I am just triying to fix this Panasonic. I will tell what I have done until now.

I have checked the SN BOARD and I found some Transistors shorted and I changed them all.

At the same time I saw that the PSU is also broken as it blows the T4AH250V FUSE. So I will have to change the 2 R6015ANX MOSFETs, so I need to buy them on internet because here I could not find them

I am confused about fixing this Panasonic. What I know is that the SN BOARD is not in Shorted if I check the main source connector. I also checked all the connectors...

                        Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
                        by jm1234
                        Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
                        by Alicat
                        Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                        Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...
