Ah--Although--whats the 5V that comes from the same DC-DC converter driving?
--Its a separate 5V supply from the transformer, via its own rec, filter and regulator....

If relative to -Vy then I'd say it's for the buffers.

Ah--yes, Think its reffed to -Vy, next time the sets in bits--I'll take a look! Still working well at the mo, Given my 50PZ80 a sabatical, need to find why the grey-scale has gone a bit pink on it!
(It was too big for the room anyway!)

Unrelated but 50PZ80: if red or pink tint, check LVDS cable is fully seated. My cheap 46PZ80 from eBay with love was fixed that way

Yep so that seems OK now see if you can find Vsc around 120 to 150V IIRC on these panels.

BTW--Adam--If you decide to scrap that 42PC1DA, I'll buy the faulty boards off you to do some more experiments on the IPM's--Or if you replace the boards I'll buy your old faulty ones--so long as they aint too much!.....

I'd say it's one of those DC DC packs which you might be able to nick off a bad board.

Yes. I don't think they're interchangeable unfortunately, you would need to find a Vsc pack for Vsc replacement.

                                            Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....

                                            by reessi
                                            Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Hello. I wonder if any of you guys may be able to point me in the right direction here.

My 42PC1D (PDP42X30401) always had some red dots on black background. It never bothered me too much. One day it died (switched off)

I replaced the Y-SUS board and it worked for a few days. After a few days I started getting grainy image when the set was cold. As soon as it warmed up it worked. The graining got worse and worse until it stopped working. Now I get flickering white dots. I can just about make out the menu on the screen so I know the TV as such is working because the menu...

Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
                                            by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...
