The 'CONTROL-BOARD' (T-Con is LCD!) should have 5V, not 8.8V to it.....

Check at the vacant socket marked, '5V'

Using AC or DC mode? You should use DC mode. Also check multimeter battery, low battery can cause bad readings.

Looks like your 15V is low, that will cause problems. Can you see where 15V might be generated on PSU? Any 15V output on the pins?

Come to think of it - having only done one of these sets over 2 years ago - I believe the 15V could be generated by the Y-sustain board from the 5V input.

Yup--The 15V (two of them) plus an additional 5V rail are made on the Y-SUS from the 5V rail.

These supplies ground--isnt ground, they are referenced to other supplies.

You'll have to use the IC Tab as the ground when testing the voltage.

That's 15V relative to -Vy, if -Vy is around -190V it should measure about -175V (-190V + 15V)

Dont think there's gonna be any -Vy, as the PSU shuts down.....

These 15V supplies are pretty critical to the operation of the IPM's--they form the supplies to the high and low-side drivers, and if low will kill an IPM, due to poor/soft switching, and excess dissipation....

No matter what--Replace all the caps around those three regs the 33uF caps, --use 47uF 50V the 68uF, use 100uF 50V, (both Rubycon ZL are recommended, just use a fair to good quality wire-ended, not SM types to replace) and don't forget the 330uF big one near the board edge--470uF is good for that these values I fitted to mine.

--The 15V regs should easily supply a 5W 12V lamp to full brightness and full 15V--although do not test like this with board connected to set--ONLY by 5V from a separate PSU, board out of set.
Still say the dead IPM is dragging down the 15V rail, leaving only 8V.

Actually the 15V(-Vy) is for the PASS FETs and buffer board. Buffer board logic is run from 5V linear reg off the 15V(-Vy). IPM 15V is relative to normal chassis ground.
Low -Vy would generally point to a bad buffer board though it's possible for an IPM to cause this fault too if the SUS or ERC node is shorted.

                                            Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....

                                            Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Hello. I wonder if any of you guys may be able to point me in the right direction here.

My 42PC1D (PDP42X30401) always had some red dots on black background. It never bothered me too much. One day it died (switched off)

I replaced the Y-SUS board and it worked for a few days. After a few days I started getting grainy image when the set was cold. As soon as it warmed up it worked. The graining got worse and worse until it stopped working. Now I get flickering white dots. I can just about make out the menu on the screen so I know the TV as such is working because the menu...

Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...

Panasonic P42S30 Plasma - Pink sparkles
                                            by Lintesir
My parents' Panasonic P42S30 died recently, and they asked me to have a look at it. I was able to identify the SN-board as the culprit, as it was shorted. After removing Q401, Q402, Q421 and Q422 the short was gone, so I replaced these components and that got the TV working again. However, when testing the tv a bit, I noticed quite bad pinkish sparkles on some colors. For instance the greyish bar on this forum seems to trigger it quite badly. I made a fullscreen test picture with only that color, with the below result.

There is about a 5cm high region at the top without any sparkles,...
