C905 is only 1uF/50V? That is quite big for that volt/capacitance rating. Is that C902 maybe?

Will try to post tomorrow; our timezones are inconvenient! 1am now and I need to be up at 9am.

OK, try checking the voltage across each of those capacitors, as before.

So, it looks like D903, a little SMD diode on the bottom of the board, is a potential candidate. It's near C905. This develops the supply voltage for the main switcher IC. It is possibly open circuit, which could be caused by a short, or the initial failure.
Can you get a picture of the area around this diode - I need to be able to see where all the traces go into this device.

That confirms my hunch; check D903 is not open circuit. Also, check on 2000 ohms across that capacitor C905 right next to it (allow reading to settle for 5 seconds first.)

My fault for not checking. Can you see any part # on D903? Could just be a few letters.
