i have a philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv which the screen is flickering. i think backlight fault. anyone can help? i don`t know what to check and measure?

Pictures of the circuit boards are a good start. A video of the flickering could also help, but if not, how fast is it flickering approx? Once a second, ten times a second...?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

the chassis is chassis Q552.1E LA . the service manual can be found on elektrotanya.
i hope the pictures are OK. i made some pictures.
here is a short video of the flickering problemComment

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
OK the 82uF 450V capacitor at bottom of power board -- measure voltage across -- what do you get? Around 380 to 400V is expected. Note if any changes occur during flickering.Last edited by tom66; 01-05-2014, 07:00 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
OK, that looks to be the fault. I would replace that, plus any small capacitors in the same area, C109 and can't see but Cxxx(?) (100uF/50V.) The 400V small one can probably be left alone. If it is not cured by those capacitors it may be PFC IC fault. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
What DC voltage do you get right at the two legs of that 82uf 450V when TV is not turn on (in standby mode)? It should be around 330VDC. (230V X 1.414). Put meter in AC Volt mode and check the AC reading on the two legs also (in standby mode also).Last edited by budm; 01-08-2014, 02:53 PM.Never stop learning

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
i changed the 82uf 450v cap with a 100uf 450 , C109 22uf 50v and c121 100uf 50v . but still the same problem.
i checked c104 4.7uf 50v but i checked good, not changed yet
in standby i get 324v DC and 25mv AC on the 82 uf (now 100uf) cap.
when tv is turned ON i have a ''changing'' AC voltage on the cap. on my meter (fluke) it is changing from 1 to 65volt ac.
i used min/max setting on meter. strange isn't itLast edited by anno; 01-08-2014, 03:54 PM.Comment

Check R813 does it test as according to colour code? Near big cap. Also, can we have a photo of the bottom of the power board? (the green solder side.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
it's r613 and measure 0,20 ohm. the colors are red black grey (or silver) gold black. the value should be 20 X 0,01 = 0,2 ohm ? (red, black x silver)
or do i read wrong way around ? so the resistor is ok ?
the IC in the HOT area to the right is OZ9977BGN
the ic in the HOT area down is HS01G
ithe ic in the cold area is 1207A
on the other site (u101) the ic is FSQ510Last edited by anno; 01-08-2014, 04:18 PM.Comment

Is HS01G the 8 pin chip on the bottom left of this image?

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
Is it HS01G then? May be similar to SG6961:
If so, see if you can measure pin 8 Vcc, with black probe on negative of capacitor and red probe on pin. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
ok. i will measure. i found this http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe...ICE1HS01G.html
i dont`t thibk this is the good datasheet because ground pin don't match.
could be similair SG6961 indeed. the vcc and gnd pin match on circuit board
i measured on the cap (C104) that is connected to the vcc pin of the IC , it gives 13 volt DC
i noticed the big cap hold his charge when power cord is removed (?)Last edited by anno; 01-08-2014, 05:04 PM.Comment

Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
That is a different chip, I saw that but think the part # is a coincidence. Hmm, 13V is OK, so if all those caps did not do it, I saw some forum suggesting to replace that IC and you can buy it on eBay so I would try that. Please do not PM me with questions! Re: philips 32PFL5405H/12 lcd tv flickering screen
I would try getting HS01G first, as I cannot be sure SG6561 will work, would need to confirm by getting datasheet of HS01G but cannot find one yet. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by Ado02Hello everyone,
We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the IntelĀ® IrisĀ® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.
The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...12-16-2024, 02:33 PM -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by valvashonThe 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it... -

by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM - Loading...
