you've kinda answered your question, 1 blink is A board , can be caused by bad eeproms , could be main processor, could be something else?? I don't know of a way to go any further with it.

Is there any way of testing the eprom or doing a hard reset ?

Hard board to get. You can possibly try getting a 37"/50" board and swapping over flash chip (104 pin SMD part but all leads exposed so not too hard) from 42" board, this would convert the board into a different type. I believe tw has tried this with success.

I've done exactly what TOM has suggested, you can search my profile and look at threads started, exact same series X20A.

But there are some traps. I'm a little confused by Tom's 104 pin SMD remark.

below are the eeprom / flash ic. if you wanted to take a gamble and a complete stab, ic9304 is the PD4 / panel data. It was that one on mine that triggered the 1 blink.

You need to keep in mind that if you did try the eeprom swap and convert , if it turns out to be a bad flash and it is that IC9304 or IC1100 then you will transfer the fault across to the other board.

If you have another a board from around that era of any type and you swapped IC9304 for a quick test(no need to have the panel running) and it cleared the SOS 1 then you could simply order an OEM chip pre-flashed and fix the board quite cheap

Good news is only 2 ICs need swapping and both easy 8pin. I did all 4 but I did not have the knowledge back then and I used a different market board which created a little more work.

I was thinking of the orange Hynix IC, so I guess you do not need to swap that (it's main application code rather than bootloader.)

Yeah, i thought that may have been the one, i went looking for a 104pin. I'm going to say that must be as you say the main app or GUI I guess, menus etc. I did that one and later realised I may have got away with not swapping which would have made it a lot easier. I've also discovered it's the number that's important not so much the suffix letters after eg TVRR431xx.

I've seen quite often researching US models that a later suffix ends up being a direct sub with the earlier version superceded. maybe that's the one that gets flashed when they have a firmware upgrade hence the revision change, but I am guessing

P.S. that one I did is still running, has a great picture and the son's PS3 looks pretty good on it. the most expensive panasonic fix of all I've done, but I'm pretty proud of that one with all the experimental A board stuff, that Hynix IC, I honestly thought i was going to stuff the board up

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                              by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not.
