    Sony KD-55X8509C white flashing/pulsing LED

I was asked to look at a Sony KD-55X8509C as it was not powering on, no lights.

On inspection, there was no physical issues.
I seated all cables and repowered the TV, then the LED light flashed Green / Amber.
    - this seems to indicate repairing required, done by Firmware update.
so downloaded the latest Firmware from Sony website and wrote to 4Gb USB drive.
Inserted the drive and repowered the TV.
LED changed to white flashing/pulsing ... and it sat there for over an hour.

i was unsure what was happening so repowered the TV and now it just sits at the white LED flashing/pulsing and i cant get it to change,

have tried the VOl-, and Power button factory reset - but its not responding to that.

    any suggestions ?

thanks. Thought I saw renaming somewhere but couldn't find it.
have just done that, rebooted tv and its now loading the USB drive now... (can see the USB light flashing) so getting further than before.
ill leave it for a while and confirm if its resolved it.

As usual, the EMMC will have broken down, sometimes recovery only helps for a short time if it succeeds at all.

not because of eMMC... many TV have same brand eMMC build in... nothings happen... but every years at end or time or holidays strike Sony server with some script to kill TVs... if Moderator look after Topic over here we will know when but how what they inject unknown at least to me .....so keep yours f°°°K!!ng Sony TV blind from Internet.. you will be fine

LOL, sounds like something they might try, I don't connect mine directly thru ethernet, just my firecube hooked thru hdmi and cube to router thru wifi.

820-00165 pulsing and stuck at S5
                  by speggio91
                  Hello everyone!

I have this board that got slightly water damanged and it is stuck at S5 state. It pulses once every 5 seconds.
When connected the magsafe 2 to the bench psu, the current goes from 0.02A to 0.10A when is pulsing.

When using the genuine magsafe 2 charger, the light turn on and it became green and then amber. The fan is not spinning.
When I tried the SMC bypass mode, the fan spins a quarter every 5 seconds and the pulsing is still present every time the fan spin.

The pulses are present in the CPU Vcore rails on L7320 and L7310....

Elitebooks (820, 840 etc. all gens) and those continuously flashing Power LED + flashing CapsLock LED
                  by STKR123
As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

Sony HCD BX7700dbi CMT flashing standby
                  by rabbituk
I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...
