    Samsung frame horizontal lines

Does anybody know what causes and is there a way to fix or check for the issue I have the TV set upside down at this moment.

Panel short or TCON board issues. Not sure if frame TV has tcon board, I've seen a few of these on marketplace with similar issue. Or damage to screen. I've never actually had one though so I can't say for sure

Could it be a bad main board as these don’t seem to have a TCON board It’s like a ghost image, picture plays perfect other than that .

It almost looks like one of the test patterns that you would do back in the day

Yea generally the tcon board is part of the main board. Definitely possible. Expensive TV so I can understand wanting to fix it. If you can't diagnose, that would likely be the part to change. Shop jimmy will do free returns minus shipping costs back and forth.

I still would guess it's the panel, but I'm no expert yet.

Pretty sure that's not it. The main board/tcon/panel supplies the image. I would consider it if it was only on HDMI ports or something but if it's on everything then no.

Thank you for the help I am going to get a main board and go from there. Hopefully it fixes it. If not, I guess bad panel.

Replace the main board from shopjimmy didn’t fix it , had same issue + the replacement board wouldn’t recognize the connect one box and the clips that hold to the tv were broken when I received it So I’m guessing bad panel 😞.

I mean it should recognize the one connect box. Those clips are important because it keeps the main board grounded properly. It's potentially possibly you got a bad main board from them.

I'd still think panel issue but not recognizing the one connect box is a mystery. Does the old one recognize it?

In the end those one connect boxes and cables can be sold on eBay for like$300 some times

This is the same old LCD panel defect, not 100% fixable but with masking tape you could at least save it in some way.. check the site for the tons and milion times treated argument,,

Original board Work as it should other than the lines in the screen I may try to tape if that’ll work because the picture is good other than the lines, yes, I have the remote, the stand and the wall mount, which is brand in the box.

Wanted to post an update had it working except for maybe one minor data line, the left side LED lights quit I’m not putting any more time into this. Not worth the effort now with the light being out. So I have a mainboard, power board, RF board Wi-Fi board, connect box, connect box cable, remote stand ,wall mount. Maybe I’ll find something down the road to put all this with who knows but thank y’all for your help.

Sell them on eBay. Chances are extremely low you'll find a good panel tv like that. I live in Tampa and I've yet to see even one good panel frame TV. Sell em off! And get 5 yr warranty through Costco. Haha we tried though

                            by Ihandyrepair
                            Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

                            by Rubenlily
                            Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
