Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 Turns on Then Shuts Off

I'm working on a Philips 42PFL3704D/F7 when it's unplugged for a day it will turn on & work for about an hour... then shuts off... power lights & screen off. When I hit power button on remote or tv.... I hear a click... power light comes on for a few seconds.... nothing on screen... then power light turns off & there's a click.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Could you supply pictures of the boards so we know what we're dealing with? Also one of the whole TV chassis.

Ugh... yeah... it's one of "those". A Funai based "Philips" set.

            Top result.

There are several parts which produce voltages for the rest of the TV. Page 52 has some, as does page 56. These are low voltage supply voltages for the main board and the 24V for the backlight inverter.

Oh ok... so it may not be as easy as replacing caps on the power/inverter board? I'll check some voltages.

Bad capacitors are an issue on these but they are less common than other faults.

Thanks Tom, I'm still trying to pinpoint the issue.

Barryra... did you ever resolve this problem? I have a similar problem on my in-laws TV.

I'd be interested to know what the issue was as well. I have the same model (but looks like it may be a different serial number) with the same issues.
