    Rca RLED4010A power supply

Hello! My mom just gave me her Del TV because it had an intermittent no power issue.

So i'm looking to fix this unit since i got it for free. The problem is that i search the net for hours looking for a replacement power supply and there is only the rev1.1 version. On my board is written: MEGMEET MP118T REV1.2 2011.06.02

Is it ok if i used a rev 1.1?

    Thanks!

We can help, Start by getting good clear pictures of the PSU, top and bottom.. get a good one of the area that has been worked on before.

              Update!

I took a closer look at the weldings(picture 6 top right)and there was a little overlaping of lead so i scraped it off with a small screwdriver. When i put the power back on the red stand by light was on

When i put the tv on the light turns blue, but nothing happens. There is a high pitch sound comming from the black transfo...at least the Tv is not dead anymore!! So if this part is not in cause maybe with the help of you guys we can save this board!

It seem back to the state it was before that repair was tried. The set would not come on sometimes, and the only way to turn the tv off is to unplug it.After several attempts, the Tv would turn on and work fine.

OK, can you get me a close up of the connector that goes from the PSU to the Main board (one with the HDMI etc on) so i can see any references for voltages.

can you take a clear pic of the area of the transformer that is making the noise so we can see the components around it? i am gonna guess it isn't the transformer but a diode close to it...just a guess for now

if t2 is the transformer that was worked on check d8 and d17 and see what the reading are...1 of them might be what is making the sound

hello and thanks for your help! The transformer was indeed the T2,so i check the D8 and D17 and the reading was Infinite on one direction and about 600 in the other so i guess they are fine. For the picture,i'm sorry for the poor quality.I will borrow a good quality camera and send some pics asap.

Can I see the whole back side of the TV to see how the BACKLIGHTS LED strings are connected to that power supply board?
That black transformer is for the LED backlights power supply. There should some kiond of printing on the board to indicate the output voltages of the power supply.

                                        Re: Rca RLED4010A power supply

OK, there is LED backlights driver board just above the power supply board and it gets the 24vdc from the power supply board.
Those 3 output connectors of the power supply boards have labels on them, such as 12v, stby.
Make the list of all the label on those connectors.
Then take the DC voltage readings, black probe on the chassis.
Report the readings when TV is plugged in (do not activate the power switch).
Then hit the power switch and take the reading and report the readings.
They are important information for us to know.
Do not touch anything on the board with your hand, you should also plug the TV into GFI outlet to protect yourself.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                          by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                                          by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                                          by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

                                          Hello Everybody,

Trying to repair a power supply from a Russound CA4 Multizone Controller (picture attached)

Russound no longer supports it but were kind enough to provide a schematic of the power supply (pdf attached).

The outputs marked 12v and 20v are all measuring only 1v.

The board is clicking, which I think means it is in something called hiccup mode when the flyback transformers switches because of an internal problem or something else on the board Overloading it.

The capacitors physically look clean (no bludgesor leaks) and...
