I have a Samsung LN46C600 (www.amazon.com/dp/B00453KFD0) for which the sound works perfectly fine, but the source video doesn't appear. If I do the flashlight-in-a-dark-room test, I can indeed see the picture really really faintly, so there is just no backlight.
After a ton of researching and watching shopjimmy.com YouTube videos, I ordered a brand new Inverter (eBay Link) and installed it myself. However, still no picture, darn.
Other people say that the capacitors on these TVs fail, but none of mine are bulging or popped.
How would you proceed with this?
