Hey guys!

I am new to Badcaps and was brought here because of a TV issue. My gf's parents just bought a new TV because their old one screwed up. When they called the tech, he said it was "unfixable". Seeing an opportunity I did a bit of research and discovered that may not be the case.

From what I have found, I think it may be a tab bond failure. People seem to have had moderate success in fixing this and I thought I might give it a go. I wanted to get your opinions on whether or not it is a tab bond failure, and if it is worth it to try and fix. I have nothing invested in this TV, so I am not terribly concerned either way, though it would be nice to add a 55 inch to the apartment.

I have flexed the panel a bit and the image flickers slightly. The image also improves some once the unit heats up.

Any help would be appreciated and if there is more info needed, let me know. Thanks!

If you an flex the panel and the pictures become clear, then that is the tab bonding problem.
It has been one year now since I fixed the Samsung and the SONY 52" last year, still working.

Hey bud, for clarity...

The bond fails where the ribbon goes into the layers of the panel and not the other end where it connects to the driver board, right ?

The flex cables (it has (small rectangular piece) TFT driver ICs embeded on them) from the LCD Glass panel are bonded to the long circuit board, the board is then connected to the T-CON board with white FFC (Flat Flexible cable).
The thermal transfer pad is folded 90 Degree to put pressure on the flex cable and the PCB, the part of the pad is for better transferring heat of the IC to the frame.
