Re: Samsung P2570HD
The resistors appear to be a higher wattage Flameproof reisitors, I guess because of the type of circuit they are used in. I still see alot of regular reisistors in use today. How much voltage is across those reisitors? When you replace them what about the board underneath where it got hot and started to burn the board? I am currious because I have been afraid that burnt board were a fire hazzard going back to the customer..

Re: Samsung P2570HD
I will have to scrape/cut off all the carbonized section of the board and fill with RTV Silicone. The value of the resistors are still correct. I will find out more when I install the new transformer. The PCB is 94v-0 rating for safety flame rating, I will be checking the temp of the resistors, transformer, etc.Last edited by budm; 11-30-2013, 10:14 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Samsung P2570HD
I've gotten lucky with my amateur repairs to a few DVD players and motherboards, but those always involved obviously-failed capacitors with easy-to-read voltage and uF ratings. I'm now trying to help out a buddy with his Samsung 2570HD, which looks to have the same failure as the original post in this thread.
So far I've replaced the TM-08171 inverter coil, which was obviously failed (one third of the coil underneath was a charcoal-black color when it was removed). Now, while the monitor displays a picture, it makes an irregular buzzing noise and the picture flickers with the noise, so something else is wrong.
I would like to try replacing the three resistors R301, R302, and R303 (see photos 8 and 9 in OP above), but I do not trust myself to read the color code correctly. My board and resistors are identical to the OP. Could someone please help me decode the color code?
Also, how do I ensure I get the right power rating for the parts? (Or maybe "upgrade" them so they don't fail again?)
For reference, when I probe the parts on my board, these are the readings I get:
R301: 377 kOhm
R302: 1.45 MOhm
R303: 1.66 MOhm
Thanks in advance.Last edited by 96Mystic; 10-25-2015, 12:19 PM.
