Haven't taken it apart yet, just wondering if it could be a panel problem just from the symptom.

Is there a horizontal line in the picture and everything under that line is normal?Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

The white static on the black is interesting. That seems like a main board fault.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D - Jumpy/Double Image
So I sprayed some freeze on the t-con and noticed when I hit a small ic that looks like a regulator labeled 03 in the picture I provided, the split/double image attempted to re-join but quickly spread back out as freeze dissipated.
I measured the voltage on the far right pin and it was a steady 7.43v even when the ic was sprayed.
The pin in the middle and back tab were 0v (guessing ground) and the tab on the left measured 8v but after being sprayed dropped to around 6.68v and slowly climbed back up which is when the image was completely doubled.
The only marking on the ic itself is "N2"
Could it be bad?Comment

Is the VSS test point what you are measuring? SAMSUNG panel? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D - Jumpy/Double Image
I went ahead and replaced that ic with an adjustable 1117 regulator out of curiousity as the original one seemed to be a smaller regulator.
Same result with double image and voltage outputs as well as same thing happens when I spray it, picture tries to rejoinComment

Re: Samsung LN32D403E4D - Jumpy/Double Image
Think this is the device
If it's working, and conducting, voltage between B-E (outer two pins) should be approx 0.7V.
...and it's not a 1117; replacing it with one may cause damage...
Is VSS definitely positive? I suppose it could be what SAMSUNG call VCOM. It would not cause jumpy image.
Jumpy image could perhaps be caused by VGH/VON or VGL/VOFF going bad.Last edited by tom66; 11-21-2013, 04:39 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by CornitoHello team,
I'm back with another tv and another problem.
I try to improve my knowledge on fixing TV, and all technics used until now are not fixing correctly the problem.
First, reboot issue, I use tape Method to find out the right side that cases the issue.
Then using this it's working for quite 1hour30, then at some point of time the image became double on the bottom for half the screen.
Then double image reduce in height and move to the top.
The image is like folded on around 1cm and the bottom has been moved to the top by 1cm.
When I... -

by howardc64LCD displays a 2nd image slighty offset vertically. And multiple pairs of black lines along the bottom. Probably common as google "TCL 49S405 double image" pulls up this ifixit post ( link ) with identical ( nearly, but their fault seems to be on the other half of the panel than mine ) problem without solution.
This one looks to be a more difficult to diagnose because most? of TCON seems integrated ( CSOT BGA on buffer baord) into the left panel edge board ( looking from rear of TV) There are 2 buffer boards for each 1/2 of the screen. Main connects to the left buffer board... -

having problem with samsung ua55es6800
tv had backlight on, sound working - responds to the remote control but no image.
check tcon board - had 12v in but no other voltages present.
when disconnected left ribbon cable - got back voltages and half image with lines and distorsion
when leaving only left side connected - again no voltages and no image.
put a tape on all (cd?! lines) on the left ribbon cable and got complete but distorted image (horizontal lines).
kept trying to block less pins on the left ribbon cable... -
by viewfindrHi there, I'm seeing some tips/advice on how to pinpoint what might be going on with my TV. This is a continued discussion from this thread, as users suggested I should start a new topic to discuss my problem. In summary:
Before I took the set apart, I started to see a double image come on after the set is powered on for a few minutes. (attachment #1).
I came across this YouTube video, which seemed to describe a very similar phenomenon from what I was seeing. (In summary, the video suggests unplugging one cable, and using a small clear piece of tape to cover various... - Loading...
