    strange volt readings.

getting 3.22 volts from bl-on pin from av board and 5.36 from bl-on pin from ps, both readings are with boards unplugged at cn303, which is the connector for bl-on, but with the connector plugged in it reads .18 volts, does anyone know what this means, THANKS.

Make? Model? Does this belong in a different thread?

Try applying +5v from a bench psu to the bl-on input of the inverter and see what happens.
Before doing this, check the resistance from bl-on input of the inverter for any s/c .As you unplugged the whole connector, you may have inadvertently taken a floating voltage reading .

"getting 3.22 volts from bl-on pin from av board and 5.36 from bl-on pin from ps" The BL_ON signal form main board is routed through the PS board for clean wiring, so the BL_ON output of the PS board should be the same at the input of the PS board, input into one connetor is directly connected to the output connector, same for the dimming control signal. To force BL_ON on the inverter board, you have to diconnect that line first otherwise the main board which is forcing that line low will not allow the BL_ON to swing HI due to BL_ON is stuck LO on the main board.

Well we are here trying to help and you telling us what make model etc would be a start, but since you have an attitude like that get help from somewhere else

Any users of this forum should read the sticky and know to put this info in the thread title.

We can't help anyone without knowing what we are helping with, TBH I'm not in the mood for your arsey attitude. Goodnight
