I went to a garage sale this morning and picked up a few things that will hopefully help with tv repair. I got a Tektronix 468 scope, an HP 62678 power supply and a variable temp soldering station. Thought I'd share

Note the weak point of those scopes is bad caps.........
You might find some electrolytics are feeling rather elderly, and there are a lot of tantalum units running at close to the rated voltage.Comment

by sam_sam_samI had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )
This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or... -

When they had them on sale the first time I just add to an order that I was getting I have had wired earbuds before and was not impressed with the way they fit in your ear but these fit in your ears very well and easily put into your ear
I bought a pair of them when they had them on sale for $10.00...-

I had 3 people contact me in a week because Windows suddenly didn't boot:
As you can see, all 3 are ASUS computers, but I believe the common factor is the BIOS being American Megatrends (AMIBIOS/APTIO).
The first two recovered just fine after a restart, but the third one didn't and was brought to me. The model is F541UV (X541UV).
Setup allows to add a boot option manually and the operating system boots just fine from both bootx64.efi and bootmgr.efi. However, there is no way whatsoever to save the option(s): upon a reboot the machine goes straight...-
