Samsung UN40D5500RFXZA - Black lines on top half of display

I acquired this TV from one of my customers. Black lines are static and non changing. I'm hoping it's a T-CON or Main Board issue, or maybe even a buffer problem. Any of you professionals out there have any insight?

Most likely panel failure. Small chance of tab bond fault. Not t-con or main.
It's crazy just how many of these newer LED TVs are dying due to panel fault. Just this week I went to check out a 32" D550 series Samsung (2011 TV!), only to find it too had a panel fault (white bar, overblown picture.)

For tab bound fault, am i able to test this by squeezing or twisting the bezel to see if the display changes at all? Thanks for your quick response

Yes, though in some cases you need to apply pressure to the tabs directly.

I'm not sure if this helps the diagnosis much or not, but i removed one of the ribbon cables connecting the t-con to the panel and this was my result. the first photo is from removing the left cable from the t-con, the second photo is from removing the ribbon cable on the right side of the t-con connecting to the panel. My next step is to get the bonds exposed but samsung decided to use very cheap screws to mount the protective metal frame around them, the heads on these things are very susceptible to stripping.
