What is the part # of your inverter? Most inverters can be substituted easily enough.

I used a *504 inverter in place of a *490 inverter. You may be able to do the same. The 504 inverter is available for around £15 from here.

No guarantees but it worked perfect in mine. Even the metal shield fit perfectly over it.

Inverter arrived today, fitted and didn't work.
However took the previous post's advice and tried disconnecting the cable from the TCon board and it jumped to life.
          One working TV.

Currently have a very big smile.
I'll investigate the TCon cable to see if it is just an incompatibility or whether, due to the connector being in a different location I just haven't seated it correctlly.

Thanks everyone for looking at my thread, for offering advice and helping me save another TV from land fill. I'll no doubt be back for more help with more TV's but I'm glad to have found this site.

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
            by ttmi100x
            Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

            Upon closer inspection...

Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV No Backlights and Flashlight Test Fail
            by signal.quest
            Hi all,

I have been working on a Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV. On power up the backlights only briefly light up when first powered on then they go out (2 seconds to black). The flashlight test also fails. The sound works fine. Please see attached pics.

I have researched the forums a lot. I have watched the videos of trying to locate the bad CCFL or transformer and bypassing. I can't find any evidence of a bad transformer/CCFL. I verified I get 376V from the big caps to the fuse. I have used a small/cheap oscilloscope and it looks like the MOSFETs on the inverter...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily
            by lostone
Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

I have a tripp-lite aspint 3636vr inverter charger which blow some of mosfet transistors. I replaced them repaired also the driver circuit and tested but the mosfets burn again.

It work very well as inverter and also as charger if I let the rear switch in auto mode (inverter) and charger only(charging) but in auto when I connect the feed line 220V AC first time it pass ok to line and start charging the batteries but when I remove the feed line it pass to inverter mode and if I do it again the second time when passing from charging to inverter the Main transformer start making a...
