thats the thing tom today 6hrs before it failed now 5 mins then backlight goes off so now i have no time to heat it up to test

@tom in the 5 mins that i have before it shut off i tried heating up the main board and it shuts down pretty quick

Get a tube.. rolled cardboard or something similar and blow warm air down it in different areas of the board until you get the fault to occur faster again.... can start to close in on the faulty component

ok so i got a empty toilet tube put it on the end of a hair dryer then heated the main board,the area ive ringed in red almost suddenly shuts the backlight down once i heated onto it tried it 3 times

ok scratch that now i thought ill try it again heated the same area for a fourth time wont shut off now the backlight is staying on im confused now

Please double check ON/OFF signal. If it is holding steady when it fails, then it cannot be main board fault.

hi tom after heating up the main board the backlight was staying on last night,even when i got up this morning the backlight has not shut off as of yet

tom should the heat sink be really hot after only 5 minutes of the tv being on ?

Yes. That is why it has a heatsink.

ok well i think ill keep this in the cuboard for a rainy day definitely temperamental this one been running fine most of the morning so decided to put the cover back on,so turned it back on cut out in 30 secs so turned it off then back on working again

It just sounds like something temp sensitive. Narrowing down the exact part may be tricky. Also have you tried turning off READY from the service menu?

What options do you have under CONTROL in service menu?
READY puts the set into a somewhat annoying auto-restart mode which is unpredictable.

tom is there a way to set the contrast to 50 always on 100 in menu bright as hell I change it but resets back to 100 every time ?

Sounds like SHOP is on. Try factory reset, when it restarts, make sure to select "Home mode".

Its already in home mode and already done a factory restart just very strange the other setting like brightness etc is at 55 but contrast is 100
